Posted on May 8th, 2008 by Hot Momma

Sarah Larson talks about life with her boyfriend George Clooney for the June 2008 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, which hits stands on May 20th. The model says she first laid eyes on George a while ago, “It was on his birthday three or four years ago at Whiskey in Green Valley Ranch.” She served cocktails at the bar at the time and had a boyfriend, but was at the establishment with friends partying. Larsen said: “We were all dancing, taking pictures, being silly.”

A few years later, George came to Vegas for the Ocean’s Thirteen premiere and sought her out and things took off from there.

Larson’s perhaps first claim to fame was an appearance on Fear Factor where she had to eat a scorpion. She said she would not have dated George if he was also a reality star:

“If George had been on a reality show, I don’t think I’d have talked to him. It would have been like, ‘That’s nice.’ “I don’t know. He still wants to date me, and I ate a scorpion.”

Sarah Larson revealed she is addicted to VH1’s Rock of Love with Bret Michaels. Sarah said that when she was laid up from the motorcycle accident, she glued herself to marathons of the show. She even got George Clooney addicted.

She told Harper’s Bazaar, “We caught ourselves rooting for someone or getting frustrated. And we were like, ‘This is sad.’”

The waitress turned model has been enjoying a loftier lifestyle in the past year. When not doing occasional modeling gigs, Larson stays busy traveling across the globe with Clooney. She says, attending all those award shows and premieres is “like a modeling job.”  “smiling and greeting people. Sarah was especially thrilled to be on George’s arm when he attended the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, where she met the Dalai Lama and Mikhail Gorbachev.

Country crooner Eddy Arnold has died at 89

Posted on May 8th, 2008 by Hot Momma

“The Tennessee Plowboy,” Eddy Arnold, has died days short of his 90th birthday. His mellow baritone on songs like “Make the World Go Away” made him one of the most successful country singers in history.  Arnold died at a care facility near Nashville, Thursday morning.

Sadly his wife of 66 years, Sally, had died in March, and in the same month, Arnold fell outside his home, injuring his hip.

Arnold style was folksy yet sophisticated, and he became a pioneer of “The Nashville Sound,” also called “countrypolitan,” a mixture of country and pop styles. He was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1966. The following year he was the first person to receive the entertainer of the year award from the Country Music Association.

Mayer was overheard saying that he couldn’t wait to get back down to Miami, while in New York City last week! Sure why wouldn’t John want to spend some more ‘quality time’ with Jen?

And with Mayer’s arrival, the papparazi won’t be far behind to snap every intimate public moment the couple cares to share outside. Mayer is planning to perform at the upcoming wrap party for Jen’s new movie Marley & Me, on Saturday, but got in a little early to cough, cough, prepare. John’s reportedly set to perform three songs at the Nikki Beach bash.

Hulk Hogan’s, son Nick Bollea to face the music in court tomorrow

Posted on May 8th, 2008 by Hot Momma

Hulk Hogan’s, son Nick Bollea, is due in court tomorrow and according to law enforcement sources he will not  fight the charge of felony reckless driving involving serious bodily injury, resulting from his horrific car crash last year. Hogan was speeding and had been consuming alcohol, which is illegal on top of the fact he was not of legal drinking age.

Nick is expected to plead either guilty or no contest, even though sources say no deal has been struck with prosecutors.

The maximum penalty is five years in prison based on the discretion of the judge.  The victim John Graziano and his family will have an opportunity to testify at a sentencing hearing on how the crime has affected their lives.

There is still a separate civil lawsuit that cites three counts of negligence against Terry Bollea (Hulk Hogan), one against Linda Bollea (Nick’s mother), one against Nick Bollea, and a final count against Daniel Jacobs, the driver of the Dodge Viper that Nick was street racing against. The crash left Graziano, 22, in a permanent vegetative state.  Graziano’s family says he will require medical care for the rest of his life.

Katharine Heigl looking to leave Grey’s Anatomy?

Posted on May 8th, 2008 by Hot Momma

Now that Katharine Heigl has proved she’s a successful movie star with 27 Dresses and Knocked Up, she’s ready to move on from Grey’s Anatomy. A source told UsWeekly:

“She’s working really long hours and is ready to move on.

One insider said that making movies while she’s still on Grey’s was just the ticket she needed:

“She’s a smart one. She saw what can happen with someone like Jennifer Aniston, who was crazy successful on TV, but can’t seem to carry a film, and she tested the waters early.”

But, fans of Grey’s will be happy to know that her contract which she renegotiated fifteen months ago, looks pretty iron clad. Katharine will likely have to suffer on till she finishes out her contract.

First look at Oliver Stone’s George W. Bush Biopic

Posted on May 8th, 2008 by Hot Momma

Entertainment Weekly has published the first pictures of actors Josh Brolin and Elizabeth Banks as as George W. and Laura Bush for the movie “W.” Somehow the cover with the actors in their makeup reminds me of a Saturday Night Live skit but this is meant as serious fare.

Oliver Stone is directing this Razzie front-runner, which begins shooting in a couple of weeks. Stone has publicly promised W will be a ”fair, true portrait of the man”. As a reckless doofus perhaps?
Stone’s own words in defending his objectivity are pretty damning:

”Bush may turn out to be the worst president in history. I think history is going to be very tough on him. But that doesn’t mean he isn’t a great story. It’s almost Capra-esque, the story of a guy who had very limited talents in life, except for the ability to sell himself. The fact that he had to overcome the shadow of his father and the weight of his family name — you have to admire his tenacity. There’s almost an Andy Griffith quality to him, from A Face in the Crowd. If Fitzgerald were alive today, he might be writing about him. He’s sort of a reverse Gatsby.”

Stone insists that every scene in W will be based in truth, drawn from more than 20 diverse books and perhaps a few disgruntled former staffers. This extravaganza will also star Thandie Newton as Condoleezza Rice, Jeffrey Wright as Colin Powell, Ellen Burstyn as Barbara Bush, James Cromwell as George Bush and Rob Corddry as Ari Fleischer. They are still searching for an appropriate actor to play Dick Cheney. Insert your own joke here!
