Tommy Cruise is returning to the Oprah Winfrey show. Cruise has not been a guest on Oprah since that last appearance, almost three years ago, on June 23, 2005. If you recall, he was on the show to promote his film, War of the Worlds, but went couch crazy instead, over-acting even more then usual in declaring his love for Katie Holmes.

MSNBC’s The Scoop reports that the show will most likely air during May sweeps. The focus of the show might be the 25th Anniversary of “Risky Business??” Sources claim that other celebrities have been invited to the taping and it will be an “A-list affair.” Could Katie and  baby Suri make an appearance as well?

This week’s cover of both Star Magazine and InTouch features the crumbling marriage of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes . And Suri who turns 2 on April 18th, is supposedly stuck in the middle. According to Star Magazine, unable to cope with the pressure of her marriage to Tom, Katie is supposedly seeking a trial separation from her husband. The former Dawsons Creek actress is said to be crushed by the weight of her marriage and plans to star on Broadway using this chance to escape from Tom. Cruise isn’t having any of it and will not allow Katie to move to NYC unless he comes along.

The battle doesn’t stop there. Tom and Kate have been fighting over Suri. A source said, “Tom wants to call all the shots when it comes to Suri. He has a lot of rules, and there’s conflict.”

The news of a trial separation comes after reports  that Cruise wanted Holmes to stay away from one of her only girlfriends in Hollywood - Victoria Beckham, because the negative effect their friendship was having on his wife’s attitude to her own body.

I am not sure how wonderful Katie and Tom’s marriage is but I actually think these magazine’s are getting pretty desperate to outdo each other with sensational headlines and rehashed stories.  Yes Katie is supposedly considering an opportunity on Broadway, which would take her to New York and it probably is putting some stress on the marriage to figure out how to make that work.  But the rest is just conjecture to sell magazines.

Katie Holmes unveiled her new look after dining at Pizzeria Mozza in LA on Monday night.  There has been speculation the cut is for her new role as she is in final negotiations to make her professional stage debut on Broadway in a revival of All My Sons, Arthur Miller’s heartbreaking, post-World War II family drama.

The pressure of being a stepford wife is allegedly getting to Katie Holmes. It’s reported she has been suffering from dizzy spells and debilitating headaches for weeks. Although the cause of these blackouts and fainting spells is not clear, sources say that dieting and the pressure of being Tom Cruise’s wife may be contibuting factors. While Katie is very thin, she wants to be skinnier and is obsessed with dieting according to Star Magazine.

Recently, I suppose as proof of her waning health, there was an incident at Katie’s favorite restaurant, Joan’s on Third, where she appeared to be quite pal and sick to many witnesses. She unsteadly guided herself out of the restaurant, braced herself against a doorframe before her bodyguard carefully guided her into a waiting SUV.”

Tom Cruise’s alleged contibution’s to Katie Holmes’ health problems are his natural high energy and intensity coupled with his exacting nature. An insider says:
“Katie doesn’t get enough sleep, and hasn’t for months now. She’s tired and drained much of the day because Tom is so wired, and they stay awake until after midnight. He has boundless energy, and she just can’t compete.”

Cruise also goes off for days at a time without explaination, while leaving Katie behind with Surie and a little project to mind. Katie is charged by Cruise to oversee the interior design of their lavish $35 million Beverly Hills mansion. Tom sees the home as a status symbol,” and expects Katie to pull off something beyond magnificent, something Tom can brag about. And Katie appears to be crumbling under Cruise’s unrealistic expectations.

There’s probably at least 60% truth to this story I would guess. But $35 million mansions and all I don’t think it’s easy being Tom Cruise’s wife.

News of the World is attempting to get to the bottom of one of Hollywood’s biggest mysteries: Did Tom Cruise actually set up auditions to find a wife? Well, according to their source ex-Scientologist Marc Headley, it really happened!  Headley used to produce promotional films for the controversial religion and claims Holmes was set up with the Lions For Lambs star after he split from Penelope Cruz in 2004 after three years together.

Headley alleges Scientology leader David Miscavige organized an audition process for potential wives disguised as a casting call for a new movie in which Cruise was the leading man.   There were of course restrictions: You had to be single, pretty and in your twenties.

While a few female Scientologists were rounded up Traffic’s Erika Christensen, Erica Howard (Wasted) and CSI: Miami’s Sofia Milos they were all rejected as Tom focused his attention on bigger stars. “They went for Jennifer Garner, Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Alba, in that order,” Marc says. “Jennifer and Jessica didn’t bite but Scarlett took the bait and came in for an audition. When she arrived and found out it was the Scientology Center in Hollywood, she freaked out and didn’t do a tape…” (smart girl)

Then the Scientologist talent committee thought of Katie Holmes because she had previously spoken out about her crush on Tom. “They got her to L.A. and introduced her to Tom. The moment he meets her, he’s enthralled with her and he told Miscavige later, “I knew immediately she was the one,” Marc says.

And everyone lived happily ever after… or be careful of what you wish for?

Katie Holmes appears to have abandoned the ‘bob’ hairdo made famous by good friend Victoria Beckham. The 29-year-old Holmes sported a softer, less severe style on a day out in Hollywood with husband Tom Cruise yesterday at lunch for the first annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood event. With her understated check dress and Christian Laboutin heels Holmes towered over shorter husband Tom Cruise in pictures ot the couple standing together.
The pair were onhand to support their friends, Will Smith and wife Jade Pinkett-Smith, who was recognised at the event as “one of Hollywood’s most versatile and gifted actresses”.

Perhaps not surprisingly, “Cloverfield” the dazzling, monster movie, was tops at the box office this weekend. It brought in $41 million enough to pass the 1997 Star Wars: Special Edition re-release ($35.9 mil). It also broke the record with the biggest January opening of all time. Unfortunately, the same can not be said for Katie Holmes’ “Mad Money,” which tanked. Despite a publicity blitz that brought Katie Holmes to nearly every major TV talk show to talk up the movie. Mad Money only brought in $7.7 million in over 2,400 locations, and the movie cost $22 million to make. Holmes was widely criticized as the worst part of the film — The New York Times called her “the movie’s weakest link.”  She reportedly passed on the Batman sequel in order to do this flop.

Katie Holmes was on the interview circuit in NY stopping by ”Good Morning America” and “Live With Regis and Kelly” and David Letterman, in support of her new movie. Surprisingly to some of us, Holmes was not asked anything related to Scientology or of the claims in Andrew Morton’s tell-all book on Tom Cruise. The tip toeing brought up questions on whether there was a pre-agreement to avoid the touchy subject.

Good Morning America host Diane Sawyer was particularly under fire for only asking Holmes inoffensive, softball questions about her hair, her clothes, her baby and her new movie, “Mad Money.”

Last night, the network was in full damage-control, trying to say its coverage wasn’t a whitewash. GMA’s executive producer said that it was Diane’s intention to ask Katie about the book, but they ran out of time. He told Page Six,

“She (Diane) knew we wanted to be fair and deal with [Holmes’ new] movie and she wanted to talk about her life because Diane likes to produce a well-produced segment and bring something special to it when you get somebody that you don’t see often on live television - but we had a time issue.”

“It was one of those bad calls on my part,” Murphy said. “Diane doesn’t generally get angry, but was she disappointed in how I handled it, yes.”

Yeah right, whatever you say!
