Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis to marry in June?

Posted on April 9th, 2008 by Hot Momma

Johnny Depp and long time partner Vanessa Paradis will reportedly marry on June 14th. The two have been together 10 years and have two children. Vanessa has supposedly told Johnny that she’s ready to make it legal.

Life & Style claims the wedding will take place in Georgia, so most of Johnny’s family can easily attend.

A Source said, “They wanted to make it convenient for Johnny’s family in Florida, so the wedding will likely take place in Georgia’s Tybee Island. They’re going to send out invitations in a few weeks.”

Depp who was married once before in the 80’s, has previously said of his relationship with Vanessa, “For all intents and purposes, we are married,” adding that, “if [Vanessa] ever said, ‘Hey, let’s get hitched,’ I would do it in a second.”

Perhaps that time has come.

Johnny Depp to become a Trojan man?

Posted on March 31st, 2008 by Hot Momma

Trojan brand condoms have reportedly offered Johnny Depp $10 million to be the “face” of their companies product. The Daily Star reports that they want Johnny to star in some offbeat TV commercials for their Magnum range. The Trojan Magnum is their larger than standard size condom so it’s a big role to fill for Johnny (sorry I couldn’t resist). Depp is currently filming Public Enemies, in which he plays gangster John Dillinger, who himself would by legend be a magnum man.
Depp has long been an advocate of safe sex eduction, so Trojan sees this as a “perfect fit.” They also want Johnny to also help inspire their anti-AIDS campaign. Trojan plans to send free condoms to third world countries.

Trojan has reportedly thrown around the tagline, “Stand up with Johnny for safer sex.”

A source close to Depp claims he’s interested, “He’s very interested and he’s trying to figure out if he can fit it in.” This stuff writes itself.

First look at Johnny Depp in “Public Enemies”

Posted on March 20th, 2008 by Hot Momma

That’s Johnny Depp without nary a facial hair, or a Sweeney Todd-esque ‘do, on the set of Public Enemies. The Pirates of the Caribbean star is no stranger to playing infamous criminals will reportedly be awash in blood again as he picks up a machine gun to play John Dillinger, the notorious Depression-era bank robber famed for his slick heists during the public enemy era of early 1930s America.
Christian Bale will join Johnny Depp in director Michael Mann’s Depression-era crime drama. The Batman Begins hunk would take on the role of Melvin Purvis, who led the FBI’s manhunt for Dillinger and captured more public enemies than any other agent in FBI history.

Posted on February 16th, 2008 by Hot Momma

Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell will each take turns becoming multiple incarnations of Heath’s character transformed, in the “magical” world of “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus”, according to AintItCoolNews.com.

Ledger was shooting The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus in London just days before he was found dead in his New York apartment last month.

Director Terry Gilliam was determined to salvage the unfinished movie and has asked Depp, Law and Farrell to pay tribute to Ledger by taking turns to play his character in the scenes the Australian never got to shoot. There is no word as to when the film will resume production.

On a side note. Heath ledger’s last film character The Joker, from this summer’s Batman movie has been unveiled just a week after his funeral.

Ledger’s grieving family have backed the release of the Mattel action figure to go with the upcoming movie ‘The Dark Knight.’

Two versions of the Ledger imaged Joker doll will hit toy stores in May.

Johnny Depp’s Donates $2 million for hospital that saved his daughter’s life

Posted on January 14th, 2008 by Hot Momma

Johnny Depp is very grateful to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. In March 2007, Depp’s daughter Lily-Rose spent nine days at Great Ormond Street after being stricken with E.coli poisoning that led to her developing kidney failure. Lily was staying with Depp, 43, and her mother Vanessa Paradis, 34, in a rented mansion in Richmond, Surrey, while he filmed Sweeney Todd, when she contracted the bug. Filming of Sweeney Todd had to be halted so that Depp could be with his daughter as her conditioned worsened and it was feared she could die from the ailment.

Since then Depp has shown his gratitude with some wonderful gestures.

On November 29, unbeknownst to the public, Depp spent four hours at the hospital telling bedtime stories to patients dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow after having his Pirates Of The Caribbean costume flown over from Los Angeles.  Can you imagine!

Last week he invited five Ormond Street doctors and nurses to the party for the London premiere of his film Sweeney Todd.

And yesterday Depp again secretly visited Great Ormond Street Hospital to donate $2 million of his own money to thank staff for saving his daughter’s life.

Disney, which made the Pirates Of The Caribbean films, will also today donate $20 million to Great Ormond Street, which needs to raise $340 million in five years to redevelop twothirds of the hospital site.

Christian Bale on Depp/Dillinger trail in “Public Enemies”

Posted on January 11th, 2008 by Hot Momma

Christian Bale is reportedly in talks to join Johnny Depp in director Michael Mann’s Depression-era crime drama, “Public Enemies,”.

The Batman Begins hunk would take on the role of Melvin Purvis, who led the FBI’s manhunt for Dillinger and captured more public enemies than any other agent in FBI history. It was Purvis who uttered, “Stick ‘em up, Johnny” when he confronted Dillinger outside Chicago’s Biograph Theatre in 1934, moments before the gangster was shot dead by FBI agents. Ben Johnson played Purvis in the 1973 movie “Dillinger.”

The Universal Pictures project follows the government’s attempt to capture notorious criminals John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd. Depp is set to play Dillinger of course.  The script is an adaptation of Bryan Burrough’s book “Public Enemies: America’s Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933-43.”

Production is scheduled to begin later this winter in Chicago and other Midwest locales.
Both Depp and Bale have had an excellent run in the last few years. After last summer’s Pirates threequel, Johnny Depp can be seen and heard singing in Tim Burton’s much hyped Sweeney Todd, co-starring with Helena Bonham Carter, while Bale has recently had two major releases: western remake 3:10 to Yuma, opposite Russell Crowe, and Todd Haynes’ Bob Dylan biopic I’m Not There. Bale is currently set to play John Connor in the fourth “Terminator movie, “Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins,” which will follow “Enemies.” Bale will next appear in theatres this summer’s Batman movie, “The Dark Knight.”

People’s Choice awards - dumbed down more than usual

Posted on January 9th, 2008 by Hot Momma

Despite the writer’s strike the show must go on for the Networks (when possible) and so the People’s Choice awards aired yesterday.  Queen Latifah hosted the “newsmagazine” style broadcast, on CBS. Two of the big winners of the night  were Johnny Depp and Reese Witherspoon, taking home Best Actor and Actress respectively. Celebrities made appearances by prerecorded acceptance speeches and vintage video clips, which were mostly montages of memorable moments. Here are some of the top winners (hardly any inspiring choices but that’s the nature of this particular award show):

Favorite Female Movie Star - Reese Witherspoon

Favorite Male Movie Star - Johnny Depp

Favorite Leading Lady - Drew Barrymore

Favorite Leading Man - Joaquin Phoenix

Favorite Movie - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End

Favorite Male TV Star - Patrick Dempsey

Will Ferrell tops list of the rudest celebrities when signing autographs

Posted on December 16th, 2007 by Hot Momma

Funnyman on screen, Will Ferrell, apparently doesn’t have much of a sense of humor when approached by his devoted fans. The ex-SNL alumnus turned movie star was voted the rudest celebrity when it comes to signing autographs.

The Emmy and Golden Globe nominated American comedian, actor and writer  is reluctant to stop for fans and is impolite when he does, according to Autograph magazine’s 2007 list of “10 Best and 10 Worst Hollywood Signers.”  The list is based on rankings from autograph collectors in New York, California and Europe.

Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire, who seems mild-mannered and helpful in the movies, is not necessarily so when cornered by fans, according to the publication, coming in a close second. “Tobey has a bit of an attitude, but he will sign,” said Lon Strickler, 49, a Baltimore autograph collector.

“But Will Ferrell, I don’t know what his problem is. He just tries to ignore people.”

Meanwhile, for the third year in a row, Johnny Depp was voted the most gracious and approachable celebrity when fans ask for autographs.

New York autograph dealer Anthony Risi told Autograph the soft-spoken Depp “likes to talk to fans and get to know them while signing.”

“He’ll sign more than one item when he has time, too,” he said.

Russell Crowe, ranked among the nastiest signers last year, jumped onto the the nicest list this year. “At one time he was terrible, but I saw him a couple of months ago and he was taking pictures with fans and everything,” Strickler said. “Someone must have said something.”  Sounds like a pretty fickle list to me but I think the top 3 on the nicest list live up to their reputations as intelligent gentlemen.

Nicest

1. Johnny Depp
2. Matt Damon
3. George Clooney
4. Jack Nicholson
5. Rosario Dawson
6. John Travolta
7. Katherine Heigl
8. Jay Leno
9. Dakota Fanning
10. Russell Crowe

Nastiest

1. Will Ferrell
2. Tobey Maguire
3. Joaquin Phoenix
4. William Shatner
5. Rene Zellweger
6. John Malkovich
7. Julie Andrews
8. Bruce Willis
9. Teri Hatcher
10. Scarlett Johansson
