Michelle Williams heartfelt public statement

Posted on February 1st, 2008 by Hot Momma

Michelle Williams has made her first public statement since the death of ex-fiancé Heath Ledger. The statement was released this morning to Reuters by Heath’s publicist:

“Please respect our need to grieve privately. My heart is broken.”

Williams and Ledger met on the set of the 2005 movie “Brokeback Mountain,” fell in love and had Matilda, who is now 2 years old. They split up in September.

The statement did go on to talk about what’s helping Michelle get through this tragic time:

“I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father. All I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day. His family and I watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals, and takes two steps at a time and we know that he is with us still. She will be brought up with the best memories of him.”

Entertainment Tonight backs off on broadcasting Heath Ledger drug video

Posted on January 31st, 2008 by Hot Momma

I have kind of stayed a way from this story but it has taken a better turn. Entertainment Tonight and The Insider have changed their minds under pressure and decided NOT to broadcast the shocking drug video of Heath Ledger they purchased for several hundred thousand dollars.  This comes after they already aired a long teaser of the video on their Wednesday night show and millions of people saw bits of the footage as a result.

“Out of respect for HEATH LEDGER’s family, “Entertainment Tonight” and “The Insider” have decided not to run the Heath Ledger video which has been circulating in the world media,” they said in a statement.

Several top publicity companies threatened to never give the shows access to their star clients again. They caved.  However, we’re told that many are still upset because ET and The Insider made it seem like Heath was doing drugs in the video.  Several stars including Scarlett Johannson, Josh Brolin and Natalie Portman also allegedly made impassioned pleas to Entertainment Tonight and The Insider, asking them not to air the video.

He was not, according to sources that have seen the full clip.

Additionally, when the shows aired a preview of the video, they showed a clip of Ledger saying, “I used to smoke five joints a day for 20 years.”

However, what they didn’t show you was that afterwards, he said , “and that’s why I got this tattoo [an M, for daughter Matilda] to remind me never to smoke weed again.”

Stars line up to fill Heath Ledger’s role in last movie as tribute

Posted on January 31st, 2008 by Hot Momma

Heath Ledger’s last movie, The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus, could become a tribute to the fallen star.

It was revealed last week that JOHNNY DEPP might step into Heath’s role to complete the remaining scenes in director TERRY GILLIAM’s fantasy flick.

But now three other megastars - JAKE GYLLENHAAL, SEAN PENN and CHRISTIAN BALE,  are willing to re-arrange their schedules to film a scene each to help finish the movie.

Johnny, Jake, Sean and Christian were all friends of Heath’s and would love to be involved.

An insider on the film said: “Heath’s character falls into a magic mirror four times during the film. It allows Terry to change the actor easily if he wants to.

The director and other big wigs on the film are still mulling over the idea, but it’s likely to go ahead in what would be intended as a tribute to Ledger.

One of the main sticking points is whether the rest of the cast can continue, thats how upset Ledger’s co-stars LILY COLE and CHRISTOPHER PLUMMER are.

“The rest of the film crew are also deeply upset. Heath was such a lovely guy.

“Everyone is finding it difficult to continue with the project.”

It’s hardly the circumstances you would want to land success - but Terry Gilliam is guaranteed a smash hit with the all-star line-up on his hands now.

Best left unsaid?

Posted on January 26th, 2008 by Hot Momma

A highly controversial article has come out from the UK Daily Mail, which makes some very strong allegations about Heath Ledger’s drug problems and how it lead to his untimely death.  It starts with the premise that Michelle Williams and Heath Ledger broke-up because of his drug abuse, which is said to have included addiction to heroin and cocaine.

A member of the actor’s “inner circle” Rebecca White, claims that Heath’s drug problem spiraled out of control recently because he thought his ex, Michelle, was gonna request full custody of their daughter, Matilda.  Leading Ledger to get more reckless than ever with cocaine and heroin.

The article suggests  Ledger and Williams who meet while co-starring on Brokeback Mountain were  a mismatch from the start:

White said: “It was this movie-set romance and Michelle got unexpectedly pregnant.  It absolutely would not have lasted if she hadn’t.  “He was a partygoer and Michelle was quite straight. But when she got pregnant, Michelle was determined to have the baby. Heath wanted to do the right thing and stick by her.”

The article also offers up a theory on what led to Ledger’s death.

According to White, “He was not the type to have killed himself. The way I hear it, he went out the night before, he was doing cocaine, he wasn’t able to sleep, and the investigators think he woke up, didn’t remember taking sleeping pills and then took what accidentally was an overdose.”

Stories like this often come to light shortly after a tragedy.  There is so much we don’t know about peoples lives and the real dramas going on.  Perhaps some things are just left better unknown. Hopefully, the toxicology results will bring some closure to all of this.

Mary-Kate Olsen’s relationship with Heath Ledger

Posted on January 24th, 2008 by Hot Momma

Mary-Kate Olsen who recently became linked to Heath Ledger By an ill fated phone call by masseuse Diana Wolozin was more then just an acquantince.  According to a story by People Magazine the two were friends, definitely party pals and maybe more.

People is quoting a source that says the pair were dating for the three months prior to the actor’s death, though not exclusively.

As for what drew the two together, says the source, “They had a bond that was based on partying, and they had the same tastes in partying … like, in terms of where they liked to hang out in New York, what time they would want to go out. They just had the same sensibility.”

I will let you decide what that is supposed to mean …

John Gibson mocks Heath Ledger’s death

Posted on January 24th, 2008 by Hot Momma

I missed this story yesterday but I can’t let it slide by. Fox News host John Gibson opening his radio show with funeral music Tuesday, callously mocking the death of actor Heath Ledger, calling him a “weirdo” with a “serious drug problem.”

Here’s a summary of what happened:

“Playing an audio clip of the iconic quote, ‘I wish I knew how to quit you’ from Ledger’s gay romance movie Brokeback Mountain, Gibson disdainfully quipped, ‘Well, he found out how to quit you.’ Laughing, Gibson then played another clip from Brokeback Mountain in which Ledger said, ‘We’re dead,’ followed by his own, mocking ‘We’re dead’ before playing the clip again.”

Gibson called Ledger a “weirdo” with a “serious drug problem” and suggested that Ledger killed himself because he had “a serious position in the (stock) market” or perhaps “watched the Clinton-Obama debate last night. I think he was an Edwards guy, cause he saw his Edwards guy was just completely irrelevant.”

Timeline of discovery of Heath Ledger’s body and how Mary-Kate Olsen got involved

Posted on January 24th, 2008 by Hot Momma

Update: According to the Daily News, Olsen’s bodyguard later confirmed to police that Heath Ledger and Mary-Kate Olsen were dating (though her rep says they’re just friends). The Post quotes a police source as saying the two had a “mutual relationship.”  I am guessing the rep is right and they were just friends.

The New York Times has laid out the precise details and timeline of the discovery of Heath Ledger body and how Mary-Kate Olsen  got involved in the story:

“According to the police, at about 12:30 p.m., a housekeeper, Teresa Solomon, arrived at the apartment, at 421 Broome Street in SoHo, to do household chores. At about 1 p.m., she went into Mr. Ledger’s bedroom to change a light bulb in an adjacent bathroom; she found him on the bed face down, with the sheet pulled up to his shoulders, and heard him snoring.

A masseuse, Diana Wolozin, arrived to give Mr. Ledger a massage at about 2:45 p.m. At 3 p.m., after Mr. Ledger did not emerge from his bedroom, with the door closed, the masseuse called him on his cellphone but got no answer. She saw him laying in bed. She took a massage table out of the closet and began to set it up near his bed. She then went over to him and shook him, but got no response. Using his cellphone, she used a speed-dial button to call Mary-Kate Olsen in California to seek her guidance, knowing Ms. Olsen to be a friend of Mr. Ledger’s.  She told Ms. Olsen that Mr. Ledger was unconscious. Ms. Olsen said she would call some private security people she knew in New York, and hung up. Ms. Wolozin again shook Mr. Ledger, called Ms. Olsen a second time, and said she believed the situation was grave and would call 911.

Ms. Wolozin called 911 at 3:26 p.m. to say that Mr. Ledger was not breathing. The call occurred less than 15 minutes since she had first seen him in bed and only a few moments after the first call to Ms. Olsen. The 911 operator urged Ms. Wolozin to try to revive Mr. Ledger, but Ms. Wolozin’s efforts were not successful.

Emergency medical workers arrived at 3:33 p.m., at almost exactly the same moment as a private security guard summoned by Ms. Olsen. The medical workers moved his body to the floor and then used a defibrillator and CPR, to no avail. Mr. Ledger was pronounced dead at 3:36 p.m. By that point, two other private security guards summoned by Ms. Olsen had arrived, as had police officers.

The police said that all five witnesses — Ms. Solomon, the housekeeper; Ms. Wolozin, the masseuse; and the three private security guards summoned by Ms. Olsen — were fully cooperating with the authorities.”

Law enforcement sources have said that they do not believe that the delay in calling 911 played a role in the actor’s death, as they believe that he had already passed away
