Gwyneth Paltrow’s mom, actress Blythe Danner, was interviewed by US Magazine and shed a little light on her daughters life.  She said Gwyneth and Chris Martin are happily married, thank you very much, slamming reports to the contrary. Blythe commented at the NYC screening of The Visitor on Tuesday:

“Good god, it’s just so tragic that people have to make up stuff. “I’ve never seen two happier parents, or people, so I don’t get it.”

The 4-year marriage has produced two children, daughter Apple turns 4 in May; son Moses is about to be 2.
Blythe said of her grandchildren:

“They’re pretty fabulous.”  “Yesterday my little grandson says, ‘Don’t go! Don’t go!’ You just don’t get that kind of love from everybody.”

As for rumors that her daughter who stars in next months’ Iron Man plans on quitting the business, Danner insisted, “She very much wants to go back to work.

“She didn’t set out to be a movie star — she set out to be a wonderful actress,” she adds. “But motherhood is very important to her, as it was to me, and I think she’s finding balance.”

Hollywood stars have voiced their sadness over the death of director Anthony Minghella.  Jude Law a friend and frequent collaborator of Minghella worked on three films together: The Talented Mr. Ripley, Cold Mountain and Breaking and Entering, said:

“I am deeply shocked and saddened to hear of Anthony’s untimely death. I worked with him on three films, more than with any other director, but had come to value him more as a friend than as a colleague. He was a brilliantly talented writer and director who wrote dialogue that was a joy to speak and then put it onto the screen in a way that always looked effortless. He made work feel like fun. He was a sweet, warm, bright and funny man who was interested in everything from football to opera, films, music, literature, people and most of all his family whom he adored and to whom I send my thoughts and love. I shall miss him hugely.”

A couple of Minghella’s leading ladies also told of their shock over his death. Minghella’s Cold Mountain star Nicole Kidman said:

“I’m devastated, there is really no way to put it into words,” “He was a gift to the world.”

Gwyneth Paltrow who appeared in Mr. Ripley said,

“incredibly talented and so interested in art and making the world better for art. He was very specific and very loving. He was very sweet to his actors. He would kind of massage everybody while he was talking – very tactile and warm.”

Ralph Fiennes, who starred in Minghella’s The English Patient (which won nine Oscars in all, including Best Director), said he was “devastated and shocked to hear” of the filmmaker’s untimely death.

“Anthony possessed a sensitivity and alertness to the actor’s process that very few directors have. He directed most of The English Patient with an ankle in plaster, never losing his gentle humor and precision. He delighted in the contribution of everyone – he was a true collaborator.”

In terms of Minghella’s work as a director, Fiennes said,

“His films deal with extreme aloneness and the redemptive power of love, even at the moment of death. I will remember him as a man who always wanted to get to the heart of the matter.”

Straight laced actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who has mostly resisted the Hollywood lifestyle to become a sensible North London mother-of-two, has perhaps expressed a wilder side.  She allegdly broke her conformity and had a tiny “C” etched at the top of her right thigh to express her love for her musician husband, Chris Martin. And in the process perhaps eased concerns that their relationship was in trouble, since the pair have barely been seen together in recent months, with their friends blaming work commitments and Martin’s latest album.

A tattoo artist Steve Flannery spent 20 minutes creating the design for the reportedly “nervous” actress.

He said: “At first she was thinking about having a tattoo on her arm, but then decided that this might affect her acting work.

“In the end she decided on the top of her right thigh, and joked that Chris would have fun finding it.

“I asked her if the C stood for Coldplay, but she said it was definitely a C for Chris. “Compared to some designs I do, this was discreet and subtle, to say the least.”

The exclusive trailer for the Iron Man movie, starring Robert Downey, Jr., Jeff Bridges, Terrence Howard, Gwyneth Paltrow and directed by Jon Favreau is out.  Robert Downey Jr. stars as  Marvel Comics character Tony Stark a billionaire industralist who is captured by terrorists.  He is forced to create a life support suit to keep himself alive after being critically injured and decides to use the technology in his suit as Iron Man to fight crime.

Gwyneth Paltrow who was spotted slumped over in a wheelchair pushed by Chris Martin and hospitalized early this week, was out and about this morning (picture above).
Her pal, chef Mario Batali, told Usmagazine the reason for her overnight stay at New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital Monday was because of “a little gastrointestinal situation,”
“It’s now been straightened out,” he said at the grand opening of The Palazzo Hotel in Las Vegas Thursday. “She’s [doing] great.”

Chris Martin, was in no mood for paparazzi nonsense as he took wife Gwyneth Paltrow home from Mount Sinai Hospital this week. The lead singer of Coldplay was caught on videotape attacking a photographer while leaving  with his ailing wife this week. Gwyneth, who’d been hospitalized overnight, was already waiting in the SUV Tuesday morning when Martin shouted, “Let’s have some respect here!”
He then went on the attack, lunging at a stunned shutterbug and grabbing his camera.
“He just started chasing after one of them. He caught up to him, grabbed him and knocked the photographer to the ground,” one witness recalled. “There was no provocation for the attack, no reason. Martin just went after him,” said the bystander, who asked not to be identified. Scrambling to his feet, the photographer grabbed Martin by the waist and demanded his camera back.
“Give it back to him, you jerk,” the videographer put in, adding, “What a jerk — and you’re supposed to be a father.” With that, Martin finally gave up the camera.
Personally I am with Martin on this one. We don’t need these kind of pictures taken to write celebrity gossip news.

Gwyneth Paltrow was taken to New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital yesterday afternoon.  Reportedly, husband Chris Martin was seen pushing the slumped over Paltrow in a wheelchair.  She was said to not look well.  After being admitted to a room, a care package from a NYC organic home supply store was delivered to Paltrow’s room around dinner time.  After spending the night in the hospital she was released home today. The reason for the hospitalization is still unknown and Paltrow’s reps are calling it a personal matter.  Speculation is it was due to a fast as an employee at the health food store that delivered the care package said “She’s doing our five-day live-food fast.”  But that may not be the answer as the employee explained further about the fast: “She’s eating salads, there’s juices. There’s actually quite a bit of food there, it’s just all raw and organic.”  New speculation is Paltrow is having a difficult pregnancy with a rumored 3rd child. 

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin appear to be back in harmony again after the pair were repeatedly rumored to be close to breaking up. The couple had not been photographed together for several months, sparking further rumours of a rift. Rumors or not, there may have been a rough patch in their marriage while Gwyneth was filming, Iron Man, with co-star Robert Downey Jr. in Los Angeles this summer.

A crew member revealed:

“Gwyneth wanted the entire family with her on-set, so Chris would bring [their children] Apple and Moses to her trailer with him almost every day.”But Chris turned his wife’s dressing room into a gathering place to hang out with friends and smoke and invited the crew in for little parties. That drove her crazy, and there were fights.”

But this week the celebrity couple, who tied the knot in December 2003, were spotted happily sharing a meal at New York restaurant BLT Fish. Paltrow has been filming movie drama Two Lovers in New York with Joaquin Phoenix. Martin joined her in the city this week.  The couple has a home there, and in the nearby Hamptons holiday resort.

Addressing the split speculation last month, spokesman Stephen Huvane said: “[These rumours are] absolutely not true. They have been completely together and barely separated.”

He told a US newspaper: “This stems from the fact that both Chris and Gwyneth make a deliberate effort not to be photographed together. She does not take him to any events where there will be press - or if she does, they enter separately.

“It is their policy not to put their relationship out there for public consumption.”

Paltrow, 35, and Martin, 30, have two children together, three-year-old daughter Apple, and son Moses, 19 months.
