While Ashlee and Pete are preparing for their shotgun wedding papa Joe Simpson, is trying to cash in on the baby-crazed trend in celebrity magazines, but he’s having a difficult time. The news broke this week that papa Joe’s daughter is pregnant with her now-fiancée Pete Wentz’s child, a claim Wentz has backed off denying.

A magazine insider said, “Joe is contacting all the weeklies and asking them to pony up $1 million to put Ashlee on the cover.”

“The deal would include photos of Ashlee - taken by Joe, of course, so he can make more money - an interview and photos of the baby when she has it,” our source said.

While there is some interest, sadly it’s not for anything close to $1 million. Even with the marriage announcement, Ashlee’s shotgun wedding to Wentz is expected to take place before summer. “Joe has an unrealistic expectation of what Ashlee can command,” the editor said.

One magazine editor said the pictures would be worth:
“$60,000 maybe - but definitely not a million. The timing is a little suspicious. Her album [’Bittersweet World’] is dropping next week, and there was little to no interest until now. Ashlee’s lucky she got pregnant, frankly.”

Well this is why you can never be sure, because for every good source for a juicy story there is a rep or the subject themselves of the story that usually initially swears it’s false. US Weekly first came out saying the engagement wasn’t the only big news for Ashlee and Pete.   Pete Wentz quickly responded saying those rumors that Ashlee Simpson is pregnant  are part of a “witch hunt,” but he’s the one looking like he needs to be let in on the secret.

As is her habit, Ashlee awkwardly danced around the pregnancy question with MTV yesterday, saying, “Some things you want to keep personal.” You would think that if she wasn’t pregnant and wanted to kill the rumor once and for all a simple ‘no’ was all she had to say.  Now, a source “close to the family” revealed to People that Ash is pregnant, and she and Pete will be getting married in May. No need to check your shotgun at the door if your a guest!

UsWeekly claims Ashlee Simpson is pregnant! Their “source” confirms that she’s expecting a baby with fiance Pete Wentz. The couple just recently announced their engagement.

In response we presume, Pete Wentz put down the eyeliner long enough to deny the rumors that Ashlee is knocked up. Pete wrote this e-mail to MTV today:

“There is a witch hunt for people to be pregnant whenever they get engaged in Hollywood. This is all news to me. I can’t wait for the story about how I’m really in a gay relationship and this is all just a cover. … I mean really, this is crazy. … I mean we’re engaged, that’s true, and happy about it.”

Expect the Pete Wentz gay relationship stories to hit the newsstands next week.

Ashlee Simpson and Fall Out Boy, rocker beau Pete Wentz, have announced their engagement via a web post on FriendsorEnemies.com.

“We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I, and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged.”

Ashlee Simpson, 23 and Pete Wentz, 28, have been dating since 2006.

A rep for Simpson said, “Yes, they are happily engaged.”

Speculation for the possible cause of the engagement has already begun, with US Magazine questioning if Ashlee is pregnant. Simpson’s rep was happy to acknowledge the engagement but gave a “no comment” when asked to confirm the pregnancy.

Rumors aside the couple is said to be planning to get married before the end of the year.”

Ashlee Simpson growing up in the shadow of big sister Jessica admitted she had a nose job. I think as long as people have two eyes, then you probably know the answer.” However the 23-year-old singer believes the  operation to change the shape of her nose has not made her any prettier. She insists she hated her image before undergoing a rhinoplasty operation to correct her misshapen nose in 2006. She told Usmagazine, “(Plastic surgery) is something that everybody should think about for a really long time. Once you know it’s something you really feel comfortable with, then to each their own. “I was never really unhappy with how I looked, (and) I don’t think I am more beautiful than I was (before). I just see the same old goofy girl I see every day.”

Ashlee Simpson’s manager dad, Joe Simpson, is reportedly trying to pimp line up his daughter for her very own reality dating show.  The concept apparently would be built around an eligible Ashlee being courted by suitors, competing for her attention.

Problem is Ashlee would need to dump her now boyfriend Pete Wentz, which Joe apparently is encouraging. It’s perhaps nothing personal after all who wouldn’t want a son-in law like Pete? But Joe thinks Ashlee should make the move in order to boost her career and help sales of her upcoming album, Bittersweet World. Sounds a bit too desperate to be believable but on the otherhand perhaps Joe Simpson sees this as a way to kill two birds with one stone?

Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson made the scene for the Los Angeles premiere of “Cloverfield” (looking forward to this flick).  Ashlee was able to borrow the makeup from Pete long enough to debut her new look including the ‘Marcia Cross’ hair color.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz might just be engaged, seen above at at Ago Restaurant in the Shore Club on December 30, according to PageSix. After partying together at a New Year’s Eve party at the Shore Club in Miami, Ashlee was spotted the next morning flaunting a simple but delicate band on her finger (below).

This is the second time engagement rumors for Ashlee and Pete have surfaced  same thing happened back in July of 2007. Maybe this time it’s for real!

Update: Well apparently it is not real. Today, Ashlee’s rep confirmed, “Ashlee is not engaged.”  Perhaps Ashlee was just fooling her paparazzi friends by showing off her bling.
