Joaquin Phoenix re-emerges clean cut

Joaquin Phoenix re emerges clean cut

(HMG) – The last time we saw Joaquin Phoenix, he was doing that “rapping as performance art” thing looking like a disheveled Charles Manson.  But he has re-emerged clean cut again and joined ex girlfriend Liv Tyler to tape a promo for To Write Love on Her Arms, a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide.  Joaquin also did a second video with Miley Cyrus and some other guy (below), and they are all encouraging everyone to vote for the charity to win a one million dollar donation for suicide prevention and the launch of a live online crisis network.  You can vote and get more info here.  Was the rapper thing an elaborate hoax, we may never know but I doubt it. Just thinking too, Liv Tyler is recently divorced and Joaquin seems sane again, could they get back together?

Billy Bob Thornton throws CBC Joaquin Phoenix like fit

Billy Bob Thornton throws CBC Joaquin Phoenix like fit

The talented Mr. Billy Bob Thornton now has a new facet to his performing career – Acting like a jerk!

During an appearance yesterday on the Canadian CBC-Radio show, ‘Studio Q,’ the host, Jian Ghomeshi, casually mentioned Bill’s enviable past as ‘an Oscar-winning Actor, Writer and Director’ at which point Bill, 53, lost any trace of the plot.

The point of the meet was to discuss Billy’s band, ‘The Boxmasters.’ and plug their new album. But when his acting career was briefly mentioned instead Bill closed up like a petulant clam, according to the scribes at TMZ. From that point on his entire involvement was said by insiders to be obtuse and obstructive.

Showing laudable patience, Ghomeshi asked several questions regarding Bill’s past, and each answer was brief and indignant. One softball query regarded Bill’s musical influences in his Arkansas childhood, to which Bill responded with a long, rambling tale about entering a contest in a monster magazine. Finally, after what must have been a nerve-shredding trial for the host, Bill and his band were supposed to play live. Instead, Bill claimed he’d forgotten his drums and walked right out the door!

Bill’s people have since explained to reporters that the ’star’, best known for his screenplay and acting debut in the 1997 hit, ‘Sling Blade.’ which won him his Oscar,  had chosen “not to engage with the interviewer because of the interview’s direction,” and that “he now takes any reference to his movie career as an insult to his musical work.”

Some so-called stars are known as ungrateful, but this just borders on ill-natured spite.

Joaquin Phoenix Proves He’s ‘a Rapper’ – Jumps into Crowd at Miami Show (Video)

Posted on March 12th, 2009 by Susan

Joaquin Phoenix took his edgy hip-hop character to the next level when he jumped off the stage during a short performance at the LIV nightclub early Thursday morning. Supposedly an audience member was heckling him and he jumped into the crowd to confront the staged stooge as security guards dragged him back on stage and escorted him away.

Who knows for sure if this is a staged put on or maybe he’s just nuts but actor Casey Affleck was once again onhand to record the performance on camera.

81st annual Academy Awards – Winners List

81st annual Academy Awards – Winners List

Morning folks did you enjoy this years Academy Awards? Rags to riches tale, Slumdog Millionaire dominated as expected. I always have my favorites who didn’t win but no big gripes for me about the winners. A few of my favorite highlights of last nights show were:

Hugh Jackman’s opening song and dance routine to open the show.

Seth Rogen and James Franco’s half-baked response to the comedies of 2008, particularly when they show Franco on screen in Milk.

Copresenters Steve Martin and Tina Fey, playing off each other as they delivered a tribute to writers

I was amused and slightly embarrassed for Ben Stiller’s impersonation of the bearded Joaquin Phoenix.  It was kind of funny but I don’t think many people got the joke.

The late Heath Ledger’s family accepting his reward as best supporting actor for his portrayal of the Joker in “The Dark Knight”

Joaquin Phoenix Bombs On David Letterman on Purpose?

Posted on February 12th, 2009 by Susan

Joaquin Phoenix who has said he’s quitting acting, gave what for most entertainers would be a career-ending performance on David Letterman last night. He’s supposed to be promoting his latest/last movie ‘Two Lovers’ but he gave instead an off the wall performance you’ll have to see for yourself below. Some will say he’s lost it, or on drugs, but the joke maybe on all of us, even though most are not laughing. This could all still be an Andy Kaufman routine with Casey Affleck who was reportedly back stage doing a documentary on him and his supposed foray into the music biz.

Joaquin Phoenix crazy like a fox with a plan to prank?

Posted on January 28th, 2009 by Hot Momma

Joaquin Phoenix crazy like a fox with a plan to prank?Perhaps Joaquin Phoenix may not be quite as crazy as he seems as of late. His recent career change, from actor to ‘rapper’ may be a hoax, put on in an attempt to punk the world, and give an interesting spin to a documentary by his brother in law.

His move to become a rapper has been recorded by Casey Affleck in a documentary, the first suspicious element to this story. His horrible performance on January 16th, where he fell off of the stage after a horrific show of three ridiculous ‘rap’ songs is another.

But the greatest proof of all are the comments made from anonymous sources close to Phoenix, who say it’s a kind of project, one in which is trying to fool those around him, while maintaining a new character.

Apparently, it’s art.

“It’s an art project for him,” the source said.

“He’s going full out. He probably has told his reps that he’s quit acting. Joaquin is very smart. This is very conscious. He has a huge degree of control.”

I know I, for one, am not ruling out the fact that the dude is crazy. I guess we will have to wait and see where this all is going.
