Kevin Federline, with his two young sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, is featured on the cover of this week’s issue of People magazine. The former dancer/rapper “breaks his silence” in order to tell “his side of the story,” in response to the press that ex-wife Britney Spears has been getting lately such as her statement”

“I think I married for the wrong reasons. Instead of following my heart and doing what made me really happy, I just did it for the sake of the idea of everything.”

Here are are some excerpts of K-Fed telling his side of the story:

Do you remember when you first met Britney?
I met her at a club in Hollywood, Joseph’s. Our eyes met and that was it. We just hit it off right away. I learned real fast how much of a whirlwind the press and everything was.

What are your happiest memories of the marriage?
Well, getting married. I never thought that I would get married but it wound up happening. That was a really, really, happy, exciting moment. I pretty much realized that I was giving my life to her, and I was doing it without question.

Britney in a recent interview seemed to Blame K-Fed for the end of their marriage:
“He started to do an album for himself and he started to do things for himself, and I just never saw him anymore. When it ended I felt so alone. I didn’t really wanna think about the reality of it. I never faced it. I just ran.”

On K-Feds view of what went wrong with his marriage to Britney:
It’s hard enough to be in a marriage, and then have a kid, then kids, it changes everything. For me, I’d become more concerned with my children. Not that I ignored Britney, but my kids are always most important … I mean, we were having complications. I didn’t give her an ultimatum, but I was trying to work stuff out with her, and she didn’t even talk to me or anything and went behind my back and filed [for divorce]. [I was] completely blindsided.

People thinking he only wanted custody of the kids for cash reasons:
My first question to [my lawyer] was, “Am I ever going to be able to see my children?” I told him that I would spend every last dime that I had to make sure that my children are okay. That’s all that mattered. I didn’t know how much power Britney had. That really scared me.

On the night that Britney totally lost it and was throw into the loony bin:
That whole night is a blur. You want to talk about one of my lowest points of depression, that was probably one of them. I was very, very worried for her ’cause I care about her. That’s the mother of my children. Just because I’m not in love with her doesn’t mean that I don’t love her. I’m definitely rooting for her. There’s nothing more that I want than for her to be in the best health and doing what she loves to do.

Are things getting better?
Oh, man, it’s totally turning around. It works out that [the kids] get to see her. There’s structure over there, there’s structure at my house. We’re trying to keep the same type of schedule. It doesn’t have to be completely perfect, but the foundation is there.

On the eve of her 27th birthday (today), Britney Spears has unveiled a huge present for her fans, revealing twenty new North American tour dates (listed below after the break) for her 2009 world tour to promote her new album. Britney’s new album “Circus” is available in stores on her birthday today, Dec. 2. We are told Britney will celebrate her birthday in style at the chic Tenjune nightclub in New York City’s edgy meatpacking district.

This is Brit’s first major tour in years. The Pussycat Dolls will open on the new tour, which starts March 3 in New Orleans and ends on April 28 in Rosemont, Illinois. Brit will also perform two London, U.K. shows in June.

Meanwhile he numbers are in for Britney Spears’ MTV documentary. “Britney: For The Record,” which debuted on Sunday night, averaged 3.7 million viewers, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Britney’s documentary tripled the network’s average rating for viewers ranging in age from 12 to 34, according to the trade paper. The TV special gave Britney fans an inside view of the singer’s day-to-day experience, as well as a closer look into the last few years of the mega star’s life.

Britney Spear gave her first live stage performance since her disappointing 2007 MTV VMAs last year. Brit attended Germany’s annual Bambi awards an annual television and media prize hosted by the Hubert Burda Media Group, where she received the gong for Best International Pop Star. Spears received her award from designer Karl Lagerfeld at the event on Thursday (Thurs27Nov08) before taking to the stage to thrill fans with a remixed version of her U.S. number one smash Womanizer.
Britney seemed to be taking inspiration from her pal Madonna - as she wore a replica of the Material Girl’s top hat and mesh-corset ensemble she has been sporting on her worldwide Sticky & Sweet tour. The 26-year-old pop princess finished her comeback performance with a bang atop a metallic spherical cage. Check it out and tell us what you think, is Britney better than ever or not so much?

Another story that doesn’t speak well of Britney Spears learning from her recent mistakes. We hope it’s not totally the case, but this and similar stories all have similar theme.  That Britney has not changed as much for the better as one would hope. TMZ reports Britney has been fighting with her dad Jamie quite often because she wants to go clubbing at night and see her ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib. Jamie absolutely refuses to let Britney see her idiot ex, and she also doesn’t understand why he won’t let her take the kids out during the day by herself.

Britney seems to appreciate what Jamie has done to get her business affairs in order, but she clearly doesn’t understand he’s doing the same for her personal life. On Friday in court, word is Britney was complaining about Jamie as conservator to the Commish. It got to the point where she called the pop princess into chambers with one of the lawyers and spoke with the troubled Britney for 45 minutes. The fact that Britney is not showing signs of remorse about the behavior that led to the conservatorship in the first place and acting like a 15-year-old about the whole thing is quite worrisome to everyone involved. Someday she is going to have to make her own choices again and it appears she’s only ready to make the same mistakes.

Britney Spears wrote a special track for her former pap boyfriend Adnan Ghalib on her forthcoming CD Circus (out Dec. 2nd) as a “gift to him,” according to sources.

Nicole Morier of the band Electrocute - who helped Brit pen the song Mmm Papi - confesses to Us Weekly that the song is “about someone. I’m sure you can guess.”

Not that hard to guess with lyrics like - “You love it when I’m freaking out / Things get rough and there’s no doubt / You will always be there for me”

The insider spills to the magazine, adding that Spears, 26, “is crazy for Adnan,” whom she publicly dated for about three months last winter.

A source close to Ghalib claims the two are in “constant contact” and the they never stopped dating.  I hope it’s not true but these Britney still seeing Adnan rumors just keep popping up.

As for Spears’ upcoming tour, her father, Jamie, is going to do his best to keep things professional without any undue influences on his daughter, by requiring that all her dancers to submit to drug tests.  She might not have meet K-Fed in the first place if that little measure had been applied in the past.

Spears filed for a divorce from Federline in 2006, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason behind the split. The divorce was finalised in July last year (08). Federline was granted sole custody of the former couple’s sons Sean Preston, three, and two-year-old Jayden James after Spears had a series of public meltdowns, including a headline-grabbing incident when she shaved off her hair.
