DC comic-book big screen adaptation, Justice League of America has been abandoned indefinitely, according to Variety.

Warner Bros studios has decided to let its casting options lapse for the DC Comics movie, after problems arose over the script and taxation issues.

The much anticipated casting was set to feature The OC star Adam Brody as The Flash alongside a number of relative newcomers - including Arnie Hammer Jr as Batman, Common as The Green Lantern, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman and DJ Cotrona as Superman - the movie had been scheduled for a summer 2009 release.

The cast was on location and ready to begin shooting with director George Miller when production was halted. Cast-members were informed late Tuesday that their options would not be exercised, but they were also told that the studio is determined to make the film, with them in it.

Warner Bros representative told Variety the postponement had been caused by a delay in receiving an official response regarding tax breaks for shooting the film in Australia, the trade paper also reports that Kieran and Michael Mulroney’s script is in need of a rewrite.
With the Writers’ Guild of America (WGA) continuing to strike, reworking the script will not be possible until the deadlock is settled.  No word on this might effect co-stars Adam Brody, and actress Teresa Palmer, rumored romance we reported here.

OC heartthrob Adam Brody, and actress Teresa Palmer, his co-star in the upcoming movie Justice League of America (JLA) are apparently an item. 
Ironically Palmer’s character is set to kill Brody’s character, Wall West aka The Flash, in the JLA superhero blockbuster, but it was all sweet lovin’ for the off-screen couple, who held hands and cuddled up over dinner at Lotus restaurant in Potts Point on Saturday night.

With Justice League reportedly delayed as producers try to tweak the script, the couple have extra time together and were last spotted heading off into the night together in a taxi and overheard planning sight-seeing in Port Stephens.

Teresa Palmer was previously rumored to be with her leading man Topher Grace,  after they meeting on the set of the unreleased feature film Kids In America.

Depsite Adam Brody saying they’re still together, we haven’t seen Rachel Bilson and Adam together yet making rumors of their breakup seemingly more and more likely. Rachel was spotted shopping at Best Buy lately doing a little post-Christmas shopping.

I know many of us are still upset about the Adam and Rachel split, but it looks like the two are definitely not getting back together. Rachel went solo the other day and it looks like Adam has already found himself a suitable companion to take her place…

Rachel Bilson and Adam Brody call it quits.

“They’ve been done for a few weeks,” a friend close to the couple tells Life & Style. “They are just done. That’s all there is to it. There’s no drama. They just ended it.”

According to nightlife insiders in LA, he’s been spending a lot of time without Rachel at the clubs with his buddies. I guess that explains why Adam showed up solo to a party last week in LA. Ladies, any takers?
