Nicole Richie and Joel Madden who have resisted the idea previously, are reportedly now ready to marry and have a very special date in mind. The couple are supposedly keen to tie the knot on daughter Harlow’s first birthday on January 11, 2008 to show their child how much they love each other.

Nicole and Good Charlotte rocker Joel are planning to sell pictures of the ceremony to a magazine but not to cash in for themselves. The philanthropic couple intend to donate any money they make from their special day to charity.

A source close to Nicole tells: “They’ve spoke about giving any money they get for photos of their wedding to Beyond Shelter, a homeless charity in Los Angeles that they work with. They also plan to give any presents away as well.”

Nicole whose adoptive father is singer Lionel Richie, has been visiting Beyond Shelter in Los Angeles two or three times a week and spends a couple of hours with homeless children. She loves being around them and was recently reported to have been inspired to adopt a child after spending time with homeless children through her work with Beyond Shelter.

The source notes: “Nicole is seriously looking into it and asking a lot of questions about adopting.”

Paris Hilton’s big romance with Benji Madden is apparently finished. In recent weeks rumors had started about some discord in the relationship and both Hilton, 27, and Madden, 29, have recently denied reports that they were unfaithful to each other during their relationship. But recent signs pointed to the breakup. On Nov. 15, Paris was photographed getting cozy with ex-boyfriend Stavros Niarchos at nightspot Mokai in Miami. The Hilton friend says the two were simply engaged in a close but friendly conversation. “In no way are they romantic, nor do they want to get back together,” the source says.

And on Tuesday night, Hilton and Madden partied separately in L.A. – Hilton danced on top of a couch at Apple Lounge, while the Good Charlotte guitarist was spotted at hotspot Coco de Ville with Nicole Richie, who dates his twin brother Joel Madden.

a source close to Hilton tells PEOPLE, that the pair split a few days ago after more than nine months of dating,

“She is saddened by the breakup but they’re just too different and they wanted different things in life,” says a source close to Hilton. “He was loyal and sweet but it was time to take a break.”

Paris and Benji started dating in late February of this year and it was one of Hilton’s longest and stablest relationships.  She even talked of marriage and children and enjoyed some real domestic bliss for a change. Early gossip is that Paris was the one who did the dumping after she became fed up with being out of the spotlight.

There are more details on the Learjet that took off from Columbia Metropolitan Airport with six aboard including the only survivors, Travis Barker and DJ AM, late Friday night before careening off the runway, and smashing through a fence and crashing on a nearby road.

Federal Aviation officials said Sunday that the crew thought a tire blew and tried to abort the takeoff but couldn’t stop the plane. A South Carolina coroner now says the pilot and co-pilot killed in the Learjet crash died from smoke inhalation and burns, and two passengers  Chris Baker and Charles Still, were killed by impact related injuries.

The medical director of the burn hospital where former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and DJ AM are being treated says both men are expected to make full recoveries. They both received second- and third-degree burns and doctors say recovery from such burns can take as long as a year, but notes the men had no other injuries. TMZ.com reports Barker was burned from the waist down and his ex wife, Shanna Moakler has rushed to be with him at the Georgia hospital.

DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, was apparently more severely injured, but he was conscious long enough inside the ambulance (at the crash scene) to call his mother, a source told Usmagazine. During the emotional phone call, Adam let her know he was injured and going to the hospital. Adam has reportedly (tough to verify) been put into a medically-induced coma.  “More than 50 percent of his body is burned and the worst is on his face,” a pal told E! online.  It really sounds like Adam is in for a long and traumatic ordeal should he survive his injuries.  Doctors say they expect him to live but deadly infections are always a big issue with severe burn cases like this. Ex girlfriend Mandy Moore has jetted to Adam’s bedside as he continues treatment.  Moore and Goldstein began dating in early 2007 (not long after his break-up with ex-fiancée Nicole Richie).

Motherhood has supposedly mellowed Nicole Richie, but perhaps not so much! Nicole was hanging at the Charlotte Ronson Fashion Week after-party in NYC the other night when a young Swedish tourist started taking her picture. A witness told Page Six that Nicole kind of lost it and went Kanye West on the tourists’ butt. The witness said Nicole shouted at her, “I’m not an animal,” and then she “jumped over the velvet rope, ripped the camera out of the girl’s hand, and smashed it to the ground.”

It’s kind of ironic to yell something like “I’m not an animal,” and then act like she was brought up in a barn? Btw, the references to Kanye West in case your not keeping up were in regards to him and his bodyguard attacking a still photographer at LAX, while the whole scene was caught on tape earlier this week.
