Gemma Arterton lines up alongside Sir Roger Moore and current Bond Daniel Craig

An entire host of Bond stars turned out to an event on Sunday to pay tribute to Bond author Fleming, including former 007 star Roger Moore and the current Bond, Daniel Craig. A bevy of former Bond Girls also made an appearance, including Caroline Munro and Madeline Smith. Gemma Arterton was also on hand for the London party to mark the end of author Ian Fleming’s centenary year. The 22-year-old showed off her curvaceous figure in a stunning gold dress.

Arterton beat out competition from 1,500 other hopefuls to get the role as the latest Bond Girl in Quantum of Solace – the 22nd film, which will be released on November 14. Beauty comes in many forms and Gemma started out life with a few unique features. She tells Esquire magazine at the party: ‘I was born with lots of deformities.’ She revealed she was born with six fingers on each hand. The extra fingers were ‘tied’, which causes them to fall off naturally. ‘It’s my little oddity that I’m really proud of. It makes me different.’ Earlier this year, she revealed she was also born with a crumpled ear, which was corrected through surgery.
Gema also revealed she moved her new Spanish boyfriend Eduardo Munoz into her two-bedroom flat in Crouch End, north London this month. The actress met the 19-year-old 6ft 2in action man on the Moroccan set of the $100 million blockbuster Prince Of Persia in August, where he was employed to teach her how to ride horses.  They hit it off immediately, despite the language barrier. But she has now had to hire a translator to help them understand each other better.

The first teaser trailer for the new 007 movie “Quantum of Solace” is out. The film which is the 22nd incarnation of the Bond series is set to be in theaters this November.

A sneak peek at the highly anticipated release reveals 007 star Daniel Craig in a steamy clinch with his new love interest Agent Field, played by rising British star Gemma Arterton.

But it’s only for an instant and Bond star Daniel Craig is clothed through most of the trailer.

In a new interview with Parade conducted from his oceanfront Hawaii home, Pierce Brosnan said that he, wife Keely Shaye Smith and their two sons Dylan Thomas, 11, and Paris Beckett, 7 are leading “a very simple life” — and they wouldn’t have it any other way.  Moving to the island from the mainland has afforded his family a “very insular” and “rewarding” lifestyle, Pierce said. He added:

It has allowed me to be a father who can sit quietly with my two young sons, Dylan and Paris. I paint, and they paint. And we play guitar. We play ukulele. My wife is an ace gardener, and the kids get in the mud with her.

But this quiet lifestyle is somewhat of a result of the fickle fates of being an actor. The now 55-year-old actor tells Parade:

“It’s a hard game, the movie game. You’re judged constantly. You have to be as tough as old boots. You have to keep up as an actor—physically, emotionally, spiritually, mentally—just to be there, because, when the opportunity comes around, the door can close so quickly. ‘Do you sing?’ Of course I sing. ‘Do you sky-dive?’ Of course I do. ‘Do you fight?’ Yeah. ‘Are you a lover?’ Are you kidding? ‘What are you?’ So that’s ingrained in me, as an actor, to be prepared, I suppose.”

Brosnan wasn’t prepared when he got a phone call out of the blue about four years ago saying his tenure as 007 was done. Daniel Craig would take over the part of James Bond. “I didn’t see that coming,” he says. “I thought we were going to do a fifth film. And I was going to take a gracious bow off the stage. Instead of that, you are just told, ‘Goodbye.’ That’s the way it goes down in life. It’s as hard and as fast as that. I had done my contract. They had invited me back, and they changed their mind. It’s business.”

The implication was that Brosnan, was too old for the part. Women in the movie business are used to hearing that, but not a guy who’s still a leading man. “That was a shock, yes,” he says with a laugh. “I never thought of myself as being too old. It was startling to hear such things said about oneself, especially when you thought you were going down that particular avenue, and then the door gets slammed in your face.”

So though he loves his laid-back life in Hawaii, Brosnan admits he’s ready to go back to the mainland. “I’m a worker,” he says. “Every job I got I had to fight for. I’ve been lucky, but I’ve worked hard at it. I love making movies. I love the adventure of being an actor. I have to stay sharp.”

Brosnan has adjusted and shown his range in roles from suave to seedy in movies like Evelyn, The Matador, and Seraphim Falls.  Soon we’ll see him take the biggest stretch of his career  when he serenades Meryl Streep in the screen version of the popular musical Mamma Mia! It opens July 18.

Actor Daniel Craig aka Bond – James Bond, is set to marry his film producer girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell, it has been reported.

The couple allegedly plan to marry when Daniel, 40, finishes filming the latest Bond film strangely named, Quantum of Solace.

In the meantime Satsuki, 29,  has been showing off a very beautiful Cartier ring with a large diamond solitaire with a platinum setting and is also keeping a close eye on Craig, visiting the handsome actor on the Bond set in Panama every day.

The couple originally met on set of the 2005 movie The Jacket, where Daniel had a supporting role, starring alongside Keira Knightley and Adrien Brody.

Their relationship cooled off the same year, when Daniel reportedly had a fling with his Layer Cake co-star Sienna Miller.

But a source  tells the British newspaper The Sun: “Daniel and Satsuki are now stronger than ever. They’re planning an intimate ceremony for close family and friends. They make a great couple.”

Daniel has a daughter, Ella, from his first wife, actress Fiona Louson. The marriage ended in 1994.

Craig’s spokesman has chosen not to comment on any wedding plans.

Producers at London’s Pinewood Studios revealed Thursday, the title of the new James Bond film due later this year is Quantum of Solace. Kind of a serious sounding title. Producer Michael G Wilson revealed the inspiration for the title:

“It’s from an Ian Fleming short story from the compendium For Your Eyes Only. It’s uncharacteristic of most of Fleming’s work,” he said.

“It’s a character study that doesn’t involve plots or anything with spies. We thought it was an intriguing title that references what’s happening to Bond and what’s happening to him in this film,” Wilson hinted.

Ukrainian model and actress Olga Kurylenko, 28, has been cast as the new Bond girl, the “dangerously alluring” Camille, while Casino Royale star Daniel Craig reprises his role as the famous spy.

The hotly-anticipated movie, also stars British newcomer Gemma Arterton, 21, in the role of a female agent.

Bond producer Barbara Broccoli said: “It’s not a revenge movie. It’s much more complicated than that. There’s much more action and it also deals with the inner turmoil of Bond following Casino Royale.”

Broccoli also revaled she expected Craig, whose casting was criticised by many Bond fans when it was first announced, to make more 007 films after this one.

“We have talked about doing more films with him. He seems very happy to do that. So we’ll just film one at a time,” she said.

Hmm, Nick Carter gets more votes then say, George Clooney?  I don’t know exactly what gets published in British magazines these days or for that matter the effect of eating baked beans in the morning.  I know it used to be the case that British TV would premiere American TV shows like Cheers and Friends  a couple years or so after they debuted in the US.  So I am going with the theory of ‘Time Warp’ combined with a different sense of ‘attractiveness’.
