Pamela Anderson Lee red-faced after A*Muse fiasco
[HMG] – With Baywatch a memory and her London stage work now over, Pamela Anderson Lee has thrown herself, silicon-body and soul, into the launch of her new fashion line: A*Muse.
There were weeks of PR, and Pam even hired Miami’s swish venue ‘Play’ to handle the crowds for the show.
Twenty people turned up.
Nearly wearing one of the dresses herself, the 41-year old former model and actress arrived for the $25-a-plate event at the exclusive Miami Beach venue last night, with high hopes and a very low neckline. But her dreams were soon dashed by the pitiful turnout.
The show had been endlessly hyped as a blend of club night and fashion show, co-hosted by Anderson and her designer pal Richie Rich [Please tell me that's not his real name?] The Mail says hardcore fans were even offered the chance to party with Pam in the VIP Room after the show — starting at just $20,000 a head.
That room was deserted.
But fear not, Pamela Anderson Lee will not be on the canvas for long – She couldn’t fall on her face if she tried. In a recent chat with Marie Claire she revealed her philosophy of life;
“I’ve had lots of things that didn’t work out, like TV shows. You learn a lot through mistakes. People always tell me, ‘Reinvent yourself, re-this, re…whatever.’ I haven’t reinvented myself, it’s honest evolution. I’ve always been authentic…Except for the boobs.”
See? A sense of humor as well.
By all accounts, Pamela Anderson Lee is the nicest person you could hope to encounter. But the ‘evolution’ is all wrong. If she wants to sell women’s fashion, women have to both like and aspire to be her. Ten years ago she was a Hollywood star and looked like a goddess. Now she’s trapped in a trailer park and looks like a bag lady.
Fix that and the people will come…Probably.
