[HMG Celebrity News] – After what may be the most scandal-filled year in celebrity history, Tiger Woods has confessed in hisTiger Woods announcement that all the drama has made him an entirely new man.

In an interview this morning on on ESPN Radio‘s “Mike and Mike in the Morning,” Tiger said life has changed in every respect since his crash last Thanksgiving, and the unraveling sex scandal has refocused his life.

In his Tiger Woods announcement, he said, “I’m just more clear about my perspective, who I am, where I want to go,” Woods told the hosts. “It’s amazing how much better I feel — I wasn’t happy with who I was. I was doing things I knew I shouldn’t be doing.”

Woods then talked about how life was ‘out of balance’ a year ago, and how he deeply regrets that it caused the divorce. But Tiger said one big surprise over the past year was the support of his fans;

“Everybody just wants me to do well,” he said.

This low-key return to the public arena was further enhanced by his debut on Twitter – which he’d avoided for years.

“What’s up everyone. Finally decided to try out Twitter!” reads his first tweet.

Next came an article in Newsweek, in which Tiger admits he’d lost sight of the values with which he was raised;

“Golf is a self-centered game, in ways good and bad,” he writes. “And that made me think I could tackle the world by myself. Now I know we all need to rely on others.”

But Tiger says in the Tiger Woods announcement that his priorities are now straight, and he spends far more time with his kids;

“Giving my son, Charlie a bath, for example, beats chipping a bucket of balls,” he told the hosts. “Making mac and cheese for him and his sister, Sam, is better than dining in any restaurant.”

The ESPN guys then asked Tiger what he’d tell the two rug-rats about his affairs once they can understand?

“Absolutely the truth,” he replied. “I’ll have to earn the trust and respect of my kids over time.”

In a 21-year career, this calm 34-year old has scored more major wins than any golfer alive, winning 14 championships and 71 PGA Tour stages alone. He’s now gone a year without one single win.

He was also a fixture at #1 in the rankings for more than ten years. He lost that place to Lee Westwood last week.

His last chance of professional redemption for 2010, ‘The Chevron World Challenge’ opens on December 3rd at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks. He won it in 2001, 2006 and 2007.

Do you think he can do it this year or is the Tiger extinct?…And what do you think of the authenticity of the Tiger Woods announcement?
