Reality socialite Kim Kardashian and the long-awaited Kim Kardashian engagement is on the cover of this week’s People Magazine, sharing the happy news that she and boyfriend Kris Humphries plan to marry!

Kim, who started dating the New Jersey Nets hoopster last year about 6-months ago, told the magazine of the May 18 proposal at her Beverly Hills home where Kris was waiting in her bedroom on bended knee with four words written out in red rose petals: “WILL YOU MARRY ME?”

“I didn’t expect this at all. I was in such shock. I never thought it would happen at home, and I never thought now.”

The stones in Kim’s ring are over 20-karat diamond from Lorraine Schwartz, and features a 16.5 carat emerald cut center stone flanked by two 2-carat trapezoids, valued at about $2 million according to TMZ.

“I just knew I wanted it to be big,” says Humphries, 26, who planned an intimate family celebration later that evening with the help of Kim’s mom, Kris Jenner.

No wedding date has been set yet but congratulations to Kim, Kris, and their families on the Kim Kardashian engagement!.

Kris definitely isn’t the first basketball star to join the Kardashian family. Kim’s kid sister Khloe married Lamar Odom of the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009.
