Celebrity Deaths 2011: Troubled Mikey Welsh quits life after premonition like update on Twitter!!
Weezer rock band’s former bassist Mikey Welsh has passed away to a suspected involvement of narcotics in a hotel’s room at Chicago. Mikey Welsh, 40, was here to watch his former rocker mates perform at the Riot Fest. Just 4 days after the demise of the genius Steve Jobs, this came as yet another shocking and terrifying celebrity deaths 2011 has seen so far.
Strikingly, just a couple of weeks ago, Mikey Welsh had predicted the precise date and location of his death on his twitter account with the tweet, ‘Dreamt I died in Chicago next weekend (heart attack in my sleep). Need to write my will today.’ Next came out a message to one of his friends, ‘Correction — the weekend after next’.
This was not the only premonition like update from 40 year old Mikey who had found a fair bit of solace in paintng figures and abstracts after he parted ways with the band. On his official Facebook page, he had put up one of his paintings on sale to which he had commented- ‘Available for $250 if I am still alive at time of purchase. Price to increase exponentially if I expire prematurely.’
Welsh had joined Weezer in 1998 and had featured in the band’s 2001 hits ‘The Green Album’. Later that same year, he suffered a serious mental breakdown and even attempted a suicide. It was then that things started falling apart.
In one of the interviews, Mikey had revealed that the use of drugs, and undiagnosed disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder as well as borderline personality disorder had caught up him that year leading to that suicide attempt.
Later, as an attempt to find solace, Weezer along with his partner and two daughters had moved to Burlington, Vermot where he followed up painting figures and abstracts on a large scale.
