Johnny Depp and his demons may have caught up to him.  There’s no other reason for his recent comments that caused the Rape, Abuse & Incent National Network (RAINN) to lash back at his apparently careless comment.

In his recent interview with Vanity Fair magazine, the Pirates of the Carribean star was quoted as comparing posing for pictures to being raped.  This appalled RAINN which issued a statement that questions the comments of Depp.  RAINN understands how a photo shoot or the act of simply being photographed may feel a breach of the actor’s privacy, it is in no way comparable to the feeling of being rape.  Rape is considered a violent crime that occurs every two minutes, according to statistics.

Katherine Hull, a spokeswoman for the organization, invites Mr. Depp to speak with RAINN so that the organization itself can educate him on what it is like to be raped.  Neither Dep nor his representatives have issued any further comment.

In Vanity Fair, the actor describes what he feels every time he’s in a photoshoot.  Posing with fans for photo opps is a different thing but he finds intentionally posing for cameras alone as absurd.  He finds photo shoots liked being weird.  He thinks photoshoots are dumb and stupid.

When the interviewer asks why he makes so many hot Hollywood movies even if he hates the popularity that goes along with them, Depp flatly replies that he doesn’t have problems taking the “stupid money”.  It’s not for him really at this point in his life but for his kids.
