Just Kidding: Brad Pitt Takes Back Jennifer Aniston Smear

In a Parade magazine interview that has rounded the interwebz, Brad Pitt seemingly trashed his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston by calling her boring and having a pretend marriage. “I think that my marriage had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t.”

It prompted some furor, especially from the Friends starlet’s side, and Pitt was forced to release a statement clarifying his comments. ”It grieves me that this was interpreted this way. Jen is an incredibly giving, loving and hilarious woman who remains my friend,” he said. “It is an important relationship I value greatly. The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself — and that, I am responsible for.”

Pitt has been in the news lately for his upcoming Moneyball movie (with Jonah Hill), which just premiered in Toronto. Aniston has made no public comment — but the paps have been all over her as she deals with her mom’s stroke.
