On Wednesday morning, Hollywood star Reese Witherspoon was jogging on the streets of Los Angeles when she was hit by a car. But her fans could relax as it has just been reported that the “Cruel Intentions” actress is in good health and is quickly recovering from her injuries at home.

The Academy Award-winner was trying to go to the other side of an LA road through a zebra crossing when at around 11 am when an 84-year old driver couldn’t pull her brakes in time and struck Witherspoon. The 35-year old actress was knocked down but didn’t suffer any major injuries fortunately.

NBC LA quoted Santa Monica Police’s spokesperson Sgt. Richard Lewis, saying that Witherspoon “suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for medical treatment.”

She was then released from the hospital after a couple of hours and sent home, where she spent the night recuperating from her injuries.

According to Lewis, the elderly driver of the vehicle that hit Witherspoon, was driving at just 20 mph but she just couldn’t stop her car in time for Witherspoon to clear the crosswalk. The driver was interrogated by the police before they allowed him to leave with just a warning.

It is the second day in a row that Witherspoon’s name has been in the news. Yesterday, some excerpts from her recent interview with Marie Claire magazine got released, in which she talked about her marital life.

She said, “I was hard on myself when I got divorced. And until I got remarried, I don’t think I realized how stressed I was. I don’t think I recognized how anxious I was about being a single parent. … Now I feel a great sense of relief and an incredible amount of support from my husband. I got very lucky, and he’s wonderful. And so wonderful with my children. I’m very blessed.”
