Madonna to Release New Untitled Album in Spring 2012
Next spring will see the release of a new Madonna album. In her latest meeting with the press, the “Like a Virgin” crooner confirmed that she is planning to release her new disc in spring 2012.
In a new interview with Swedish Sveriges Television, she revealed that some studio work for her new compilation has already been done, although a majority is still left. Currently in Europe, the 53-year old plans to get back to work immediately after her return to the US and expect the recording to be wrapped up by the end of the current year.
The pop superstar’s fans should expect to get the first taste of her yet-unnamed album in February or March of next year but the full release is not scheduled before 2012’s spring. Her previous album named “Hard Candy” was released in 2008 and it went on to sell 3.8 million copies worldwide.
According to Billboard.com, it will be Madonna’s first music album with Live Nation, who gave her a mammoth US $120 million deal in 2007. Before that, she was a Warner Bros. Records’ artist for nearly a quarter of a century.
Career-wise, Madonna has been quite active in the last few months and her album plans suggest that she is in no mood of slowing down. She recently made her directorial debut in the movie W.E., which was also featured at the Venice Film Festival.
