“Glee” star Cheyenne Jackson has announced that he has gotten married to his partner Monte Lapka, after eleven years together.

He took to micro-blogging website Twitter to share the news of their homosexual marriage with his followers. Jackson first tweeted, “It’s official, after 11 years together, Zora’s no longer a bastard. Married the best man I’ve ever known.”

The mention of “Zora” in his tweet could give the impression that the newly married couple has a child together but that’s not the case as it is the name of their dog.

On musical drama “Glee,” Jackson plays the character of rival singing group Vocal Adrenaline’s coach and he also makes regular appearances on “30 Rock.” The 36-year old actor/singer had disclosed his sexual preference in the media a long time ago and he has since been a vocal advocate of the LGBT community.

Both Jackson and his physicist groom wore white dresses in their wedding, which took place at the Hamptons’ beach.

Gay marriages were legalized in the state of New York in June 2011 and Jackson had been planning of his big day with Lapka for years.

In a 2010 interview with NBC New York, he Jackson said, “My dream wedding involves just close friends and good music. And we’ll both be in tuxes. Unfortunately nobody’s going to be wearing a dress, but that’s okay too.”

He then added, “Our dog would be there. Our dog—our daughter—Zora… Pretty boring, but something just nice and on the beach.”
