Chaz Bono to Be Nothing Like Cher on “Dancing With the Stars”

Chaz Bono may be Cher’s son but he isn’t that big a fan of glamour and glitter as her mother is. So don’t expect him to lighten things up when he appears on the next season of “Dancing with the Stars.”

Speaking in a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Chaz said, I’m a little bit more conservative than she is, so [I’ll be wearing] tasteful suits, nice lines, that kind of thing.”

He said that when he told his mum of his decision to compete on the ABC reality show, his she asked him a bunch of questions like a typical mother would do.

Chaz recalled, “I told her via phone and her reaction was that she thought it was cool that I was doing it and wanted to know how I felt when I started, if I was nervous – all of those things.”

During yesterday’s official “DWTS” cast announcement, Chaz showed up with a small beard and then said that he likes it a lot.

When Kit told him that she likes his scruffy little beard, he replied, “Thank you, I appreciate it. It’s the first thing I could grow, so I’m pretty psyched about it.”

He then said that he is very keen to be the lead dancer on the dance floor. “It feels great. It feels so good. I mean, it took me so long to finally get comfortable in my body and to be able to challenge it in this way, and dance with a beautiful woman, it’s gonna be a blast,” he said.

The names of celebrity contestants’ pro partners will be announced in the Wednesday’s episode of “Good Morning America,” while the new season will be on air from September 19. A day later, the fans will get to know more about the new contestants on a special “Dancing with the Stars: Meet the Cast” show.
