Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva Thrash Out Child Custody Agreement

According to a statement released by the officials of Los Angeles Superior Court, actor Mel Gibson and Russian pianist Oksana Grigorieva have thrashed out an agreement over the custody of their 22-month old daughter Lucia.

Since January 2010, the former couple has been fighting each other in court over a series of issues, the first of which was the domestic battery case filed against Gibson by Grigorieva.

Gibson has had more than his share of controversies and negative press in recent years. Last year, same audio clips in Gibson’s voice were leaked to the media, in which he was heard passing racist and sexist remarks. It became an international scandal and brought a lot of criticism for the 55-year old Hollywood star. Law enforcement agencies did get a hold of the recordings but attempts to use them in court were thwarted due to lack of its authenticity.

In spite of the boisterous nature of their post-breakup relationship, the “Braveheart” star’s legal representatives have told the media that their client has given a luxury home to Grigorieva. This is in addition to the thousands of dollars that he has been paying her for child support.

This legal wrangling is another less than ideal episode of Gibson’s personal life. In 2006, he was also accused of passing anti-Semitic comments when arrested by police on DUI charges.

The full details of his agreement with Grigorieva haven’t been released yet.
