Concerts of big name artists Janet Jackson and Lady Antebellum have been cancelled by the authorities after a stage collapsed at one of the weekend’s concerts in India, taking the lives of five people.

Jackson was scheduled to perform on Wednesday’s state fair, while Lady Antebellum were expected to entertain their fans on Friday.

But a concert planned for Thursday, featuring Maroon 5 and Train will take place at the Conseco Fieldhouse, but all the earnings will go to the remembrance fund for the benefit of the weekend’s victims.

The stage disaster occurred on Saturday at country music duo Sugarland’s concert, when heavy wind blew the stage’s holding equipment. The venue packed 12,000 people in it, out of whom, 45 were injured and five unfortunate got killed.

Even though an advance inquiry has been launched, the initial verdict by the investigation team is that the high winds could not have been predicted.

Lady Antebellum expressed their disappointment at having to cancel their concert. “We’re so sorry to cancel this Friday’s show, our thoughts are with Indy,” the country music trio tweeted.

Jackson also logged in on her Twitter account to say, “Heartbroken. Prayers and love to Indiana.”

According to the Maroon 5 and Train’s show organizers, the previously purchased tickets will be eligible at the new venue. All the revenue from the concert will go to the Indiana State Fair Remembrance Fund.
