Twilight Star Robert Pattinson Fails To Land Jeff Buckley Role, Again

Twilight star Robert Pattinson just can’t get his lucky break to playing music legend Jeff Buckley. First losing out to Gossip Girl star, Penn Badgley, for the much coveted role in “Greetings From Tim Buckley,” now he’s lost out to a relatively unknown actor Reeve Carney, 28, to play in an upcoming production of the Hallelujah singer’s life.

In a statement obtained by Hollywood Life, Mary Guibert, Buckley’s mother, confirmed: “We are over the moon that Reeve has agreed to take on this challenging role.” She continued “He’s been getting ready for this all his life. It certainly doesn’t hurt that he looks so much like Jeff.”

Reeve has been playing Spiderman/Peter Parker in the Broadway production of Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark.

The biopic will be directed by Jake Scott, previously a music video director and son of famous director Ridley Scott, added “We are excited to have found in Reeve the perfect combination of musical prodigy, impish charm, innate intelligence and sensitivity to play Jeff.”
