Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva Clash over Daughter’s Schooling

Mel Gibson may have a lot of money and fame, but the matter that is giving him headaches nowadays is no different than the ones faced by millions of fathers around the world, whose former life partners are unwilling to bow to their requests.

Mel and Oksana started dating in March 2009 and after having a daughter named Lucia together, the pair went their separate ways in April 2010. Things have gotten pretty ugly between them since, with both the artists obtaining restraining orders against each other. The latest battle being fought between the two parties is about where their 21-month old daughter Lucia should be schooled.

The Russian pianist Oksana wants baby Lucia to attend a private school near their San Fernando Valley-residence, but Mel, who lives in Malibu, isn’t cool with the idea of driving to the Valley, each time he has to see his daughter. It should be noted that even without making a provision for traffic; a road trip from Malibu to the Valley is quite a task. That is why Mel wants Lucia to go to a school that is halfway between his and Oksana’s home.

According to celebrity blog TMZ’s sources, Mel and Oksana are nowhere near the settlement of their child custody agreement. Mel wants an equal share of Lucia’s custody but Oksana is totally against the idea of a 50/50 split.

TMZ’s source further added that the disagreement has been going on for such a long time that Oksana’s legal representatives want her to show some flexibility, just so they can finally get their legal fees. Apparently, Oksana is so pissed on the “Braveheart” star that she wants the case to continue, just to trouble him.
