Like Amy Winehouse, Jani Lane’s Autopsy Reveals Nothing
Jani Lane’s cause of death will also remain a secret for the next few weeks, just as it happened in British singer Amy Winehouse’s case. Yesterday (August 12), an autopsy was conducted on the deceased lead singer of glam metal band “Warrant,” but it failed to shed any light on what might have caused his untimely death at the age of 47.
This means that now a series of toxicology tests will be performed on the Lane’s dead body, a process that can take a couple of months to produce any conclusive reports.
Lane was found unconscious in Woodland Hills’ comfort Inn Hotel near Los Angeles and was pronounced dead on arrival by the paramedics. His long serving manager Obi Steinman is of the opinion that the late singer’s struggles with alcohol may have contributed to his death. Steinman commented, “He lost his battle over alcohol. He was one of the great rock-and-roll frontmen and singers of all time. His music helped shape the ’80s.”
Some unconfirmed reports have suggested that a vodka bottle and prescription pills were found lying near his dead body. For the time being, the investigation team is treating Lane’s death as “an accidental overdose or a possible death from natural causes.”
Steinman told the media that a private memorial service for the Akron-born singer will be organized tomorrow (August 14), while a public event would be held on August 24 at a yet-undecided place. L.A. Guns and Great White are expected to give musical tributes in the public memorial.
