“Vampire Diaries” Add a Vampire-Killer to the Show
The new season of “The Vampire Diaries” will feature a new character that will not be very kind to the Vampires. According to Entertainment Weekly, actor Sebastian Roche has been added to the show to play “a very mysterious man who appears to be hunting vampires, most specifically Klaus.”
The new anti-vampire character was to be named Eric, but the original name has been scrapped, as they plan to introduce another character named Bill on the show. Both the names (Eric and bill) are also being used by “True Blood” series too and so “The Vampire Diaries” gave up Eric in order to avoid comparisons.
The character of Bill will be played by Jack Coleman, who is famous for his part in the hit superhero series “Heroes.” Both his and Roche’s characters will be introduced somewhere during the first chapter of the third season.
Talking about Roche’s yet-untitled character with EW, show’s exec producer Julie Plec said, “For some reason, Klaus, who shouldn’t be afraid of anybody, seems to be concerned about this person. He is big, and he is bad, but I would dare not say if he is the true Big Bad or not, trademark Joss Whedon.”
Plec also hinted about more actors joining the cast of the fantasy drama series by adding, “There might be some bigger and badder people coming [later].”
“The Vampire Diaries” is scheduled to air its third season on The CW from September 15.
