Her career has been filled with success but Katy Perry has now achieved something even Lady Gaga is still chasing – ‘Last Friday Night’ is her fifth #1 hit from one album.

This is the first time in the Billboard chart’s 19-year history a single album has produced five number-ones. If ‘Friday’ can also hit #1 on the ‘Hot 100,’ which is released later this week it will become only the second album in that chart’s 53-year history to achieve such a feat.

The other was Michael Jackson’s 1987 CD, ‘Bad.’

Before Katy set this prestigious record her ‘Teenage Dream’ album was tied with Justin Timberlake’s “Future Sex / Love Sounds” CD from 2006 and Lady Gaga’s 2009 disc ‘The Fame,’ both of which produced four #1′s. Katy tied them with ‘Teenage Dream,’ ‘California Gurls,’ ‘Firework’ and ‘ET’ – but now she’s out on her own.

And there’s more: ‘Last Friday Night’ is not only her fifth #1 hit from one disc, but also her seventh since she began singing. Lady Gaga also has seven but Rihanna holds the record with eight, so there’s stiff competition.

‘Friday’ also holds the record for the most weekly radio plays in the history of the chart – 12,448. The record was previously held by…Katy Perry, for her 2010 single ‘E.T.’

Here’s what all the fuss is about. See if you think she deserves this…
