Real Housewives’ Ramona Singer, Jill Zarin spar on ‘Today’ show [video]
The Real Housewives of New York may be on a break but the producers don’t seem to have picked up the memo. Kathy Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb had two stars, Ramona Singer and Jill Zarin on the Today show yesterday and it was nearly a French manicured fist fight.
In the past Jill has dropped hints about Ramona’s fondness for drinking, and Ramona’s clearly become tired of it.
“She keeps inferring I have a drinking problem,” Singer told the hosts. “You girls like to have a drink now and then, so do I.”
To even the score Ramona then said it was in fact Zarin who couldn’t put down a bottle. Jill flatly denied this and chastised Ramona for saying such a thing on live, national TV…and it just got better from there.
The conversation then skews as Ramona seized the chance of a national forum to showcase her views on Alcoholics Anonymous and domestic abuse, at which point Hoda decided to pull in the reins;
“You guys are talking like apples and oranges,” she told the pair. “She’s right, you shouldn’t out someone who’s going to AA and I’m glad you give to domestic abuse, but those are two separate things.”
When you have two guests on a show who can make Kathy and Hoda look adroit and insightful, there’s a problem. Watch and tell us whose side you’re on?….

I can’t believe that so many people are being so disrespectful (including Ramona) of Jill’s privacy and the integrity of AA. The whole point, as Jill tries to point out, of the group is to have anonymity. I’ve seen rumors that some people are even using this as an example of why they now do not want to join AA. Jill (Jill Zarin) has shown everyone with her reaction how a true lady with class acts!
I think there is something SERIOUSLY wrong with Ramona! She is getting worse with her crazy head swaying, eyes wide open and hands a going all over the place! She says hurtful things to people, and instead of stating something VERY personal, perhaps she should have concentrated on her own drinking problem! She is either drinking a LOT, or a mid-life crisis, or something mentally wrong with her! I can’t even think of anyone on the show that she has not been rude too or taken an uncalled for jab! And when she was trying to answer and then kept looking at herself in the tape, made me quite repulsed! I hope Jill decides to move on from the show! IF she doesn’t it’s time to take out the nasty one – Ramona, Kelly, Alex/Simon! I have been watching reruns and the 4 of them are making me pull my hair out and actually wincing about watching the hysterics and fighting! I MISS Bethany and Jill having a good laugh and being friends – what most women are!
Romona is rude. I don’t know why anyone listens to her at all. I don’t know why she thinks she is queen. She seems to want to destroy anyone that has anything good including friendships if they don’t bow to her. She needs to get over herself.
