Lindsay Lohan pal, Sam Ronson arrested for DUI

In an event that could end her career…if she had one, Samantha Ronson, ex-girlfriend of Lindsay Lohan was arrested in Bakersfield, California at 10.30am Monday and has been charged with DUI.

Driving her brand new black Porsche the 33-year old DJ was returning from a gig at the Las Vegas nightclub ‘Lavo’ in the Palazzo Hotel on Sunday night when she was pulled over by the Highway Patrol for speeding.

She was asked to do what’s known among officers as “a roadside blow” — a low-tech breathalyser test which is still quite accurate but not mandatory. She refused and was promptly arrested.

Police then transported her to Bakersfield’s main police station where she was required to take the full test. She blew well over the ‘.08′ limit and was promptly charged and transported to Barstow jail.

Her exact score is not known at this point, but a good measure of how far over the limit she was can be seen in the fact she was not released from the cells until 2:23pm.

She must now appear in court at a date to be determined, and friends say they’re not remotely surprised by the news – Sam’s apparently been clubbing a lot recently, and drinking far more than is usual. Even for her.

She and Lindsay famously dated way back in 2008. Lohan later announced she’d ended the connection because she wanted to ‘concentrate on my movie career.’
