The loss of Amy Winehouse yesterday at just 27 hit everyone hard, but her friends and fellow stars seem crushed by the news. Within minutes of reports of her death filtering out the Twitter world lit up with eulogies and regrets:

“I cant even breathe, I’m crying so hard,” wrote Amy’s friend, Kelly Osbourne. “I just lost one of my best friends. I love you forever, Amy and will never forget the real you!”

Mark Ronson, who produced ‘Back to Black’ was also moved; “She was my musical soulmate & like a sister to me. This is one of the saddest days of my life.”

And his sister, Samantha Ronson was clearly upset; “I’m not sure how anyone with a soul can make jokes about the passing of one of the most talented artists this generation will see,” she told her fans.

Rihanna, meanwhile, was crushed; “Dear God have mercy! I am SICK about this right now! U made a MAJOR impression on this industry and throughout the world, in such a short space of time. Too short!”

And Nicki Minaj was in shock; “Please tell me Amy Winehouse didn’t die. Is this some sick joke?” she asked the twitterverse.

Those who never worked with Amy were also touched by the loss; Thus Demi Moore:

“Truly sad news about Amy Winehouse. My heart goes out to her family. May her troubled soul find peace.”

Even the Real Housewives of New York got involved: “Just heard about Amy Winehouse. How horribly sad. Just so sad,” tweeted Jill Zarin.

Other stars counseled fans on the causes without even naming – or missing – the star;

“Addiction is chronic, progressive, and fatal if untreated….Recovery isn’t for those who want it, or even those who need. It’s for those who work it,” said Ashley Judd.

Other stars were both succinct and had more taste; P. Diddy, Pete Wentz and Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst just posted “R.I.P.”

Amy was found dead in her London home Saturday afternoon. The cause of death is not known so far but Scotland Yard is telling the media that any claims of a drug overdose are ‘speculation” at this point.

A postmortem examination is currently scheduled for Monday. When the true verdict is known we’ll bring you the word…
