Amy Winehouse’s Autopsy to Take Time
Earlier today (July 24), London’s Metropolitan Police announced that Amy Winehouse’s autopsy will be conducted on Monday morning at the earliest.
In an official statement, the local police said, “Inquiries continue into the circumstances of the death.” Currently, Winehouse’s demise “is being treated as unexplained and there have been no arrests in connection with the incident.”
The highly talented Briton was famous around the world for her singing talent but her drinking and drugs problems, coupled with her run-ins with the law brought her popularity graph down significantly in recent years.
During her last performance in Belgrade the 27-year old was booed off stage after she was unable to perform at a decent enough level due to her into intoxicated state. After the Serbian disaster, she then cancelled all the remaining shows of her European tour.
Yesterday at 4pm local time, police was called at her London residence, where she was pronounced dead on location. Her representatives confirmed the news to send the fans of her soulful voice in a state of shock.
At that time, her father was in New York, where he was scheduled to perform with his band at the Blue Note club. Upon learning the news, he immediately flew back to London.
General belief among the fans and the industry gossipers is that Winehouse may have died of a drug overdose, but until the autopsy report comes out nothing can be said with any certainty.
