When a soldier is posted in war-stricken region, the notion of seeing you friends and family is enough motivation for him to come back safe and sound. But US Marine Sergeant Scott Moore has one more reason to count his days in Afghan war zones before coming back to the States.

Last week, he posted a video on YouTube, in which he openly asked actress Mila Kunis to be his date for the night at this November’s Marine Corps ball.

What was supposed to be a goofy thing by the sergeant, turned out to be serious, when Kunis’ “Friends With Benefits” co-star Justin Timberlake brought up Moore’s offer during one of their recent interviews. The former NSYNC-member then pressed Kunis for an answer and she said, “I’ll go.”

In the 19 seconds-long clip made in Afghanistan, the fully-uniformed Sergeant said, “Hey Mila. It’s Sergeant Moore, but you can call me Scott. I just wanted to take a moment out of my day to invite you to the Marine Corps Ball on November 18th in Greenville, N.C., with yours truly. So take a second, think about it and get back to me.”

The actress didn’t talk to the media about this blind-date, but according to Moore, her representatives have got in touch with him.

Following the acceptance, Moore said, “I’m very excited about the opportunity to share the experience with Ms. Kunis and would like to thank her for accepting my offer.”

Moore, who had previously served in Iraq added, “This ball will be special not only because of Mila, but also because we will have recently returned from our deployment to Afghanistan.”

It should be noted that the annual Marine Corps ball is celebrated in remembrance of US Marine’s Nov. 10, 1775 founding and is considered a major calendar event for everyone associated with this branch of the US Armed Forces.
