Nickelodeon’s Ryan Rottman booked for DUI

Child actors have a tough time getting noticed once they grow up – Macauley Culkin anyone? – but some pick some truly dumb ways to get press – Former Nickelodeon star, Ryan Rottman was arrested last night for DUI and can now add ‘Drunk driver’ to his resume.

The police report says the 27-year old actor, who’ll you’ll remember as Joey Colvin on TeenNick’s ‘Gigantic.’ was driving through Hollywood last night and his car jumped the curb. A passing LAPD patrol car saw the whole thing and pulled Ryan over.

Cops say he ‘reeked’ of alcohol, and scored a ‘.19′ on a field sobriety test – more than twice what is legal. He was then booked at the local jail and released a few hours later.

It’s a sad truth that in most careers getting drunk and arrested would cause you some trouble, but in Hollywood he’ll barely stand out.

Ryan is currently romantically involved with fellow ‘Nick’ star, Victoria Justice. Her reps have made no comment so far but it’s pretty sure he’ll be hearing about this for a while, don’t you think?
