Jerry Springer offers Casey Anthony $1m to talk

If you wanted an entertainment-related story without one grain of taste, here it is. Those in charge of the Jerry Springer show have offered accused murderer Casey Anthony $1-million to appear on the show.

Of course, being Mr. Springer a small catch is involved – Casey must appear with her parents, Cindy and George, and her brother. Lee.

A large portion of Casey’s defense rested on claims she was sexually abused by her father, so you can imagine the kind of on-screen fireworks this grouping could cause. So can Jerry.

“They’re a carnival of dysfunctionality,” ex-fiancée, Jesse Grund told reporters. “There’s no way they have any semblance of a normal family life.”

Casey, 25, has already been offered a lucrative contract to star in a ‘Vivid’ porn film by their founder, Steve Hirsch, but this latest example of cash-fueled exploitation was presented to her lawyers today and the response is almost as depressing as the original news;

“They’re interested,” says a friend of the brood. “The show would get huge ratings. The family will be presented with the offer shortly.”

Casey’s defense team claimed her daughter, Caylee drowned in a pool and Casey was too scared of her father to tell anyone. Her mom was also accused of lying on oath to help win the case.

For Mr. Springer a circus of unbounded dysfunction like that spells golden ratings, so you can bet he’ll make this work if Casey shows any interest.

There are now rumors that Jerry’s nixed the deal after all the bad press, but what do you think – should Casey do a show like this or not?
