Beyonce Releases Music Video for ‘Best Thing I Never Had’ (Video)

Those who have listened to the first two songs of Beyonce’s latest compilation ‘4,’ must be aware that they are of very contrasting nature. And same contrasting taste is also reflected in the music videos that Queen B has made for Run the World (Girls) and the new arrival ‘Best Thing I Never Had.’ While the visuals for the former were fiery and aggressive, the latter’s video is more relaxed and subtle, in accordance with the song’s lyrical content.

The Babyface-written ‘Best Thing I Never Had’ starts with a lingerie-clad Bey looking directly into the camera and telling her ex-lover that he wouldn’t find anyone better than her. But it isn’t like she is still hung up on him and claims that she has moved on in her life.

Real life Mrs. Jay-Z then tries on a bunch of stuff, including a tiara and a veil, before the viewers are shown what led to the breakup of Bey and her former beau. The scene changes into a prom night dance floor, where she witnesses her lover paying a lot of attention to another girl and so we know that the guy’s infidelity was the reason of them not being together.

In the next scene, the Halo-singer’s on-screen wedding scene is shown and just before the exchange of vows, her original love’s prom night image pops into her head once again. But she quickly sweeps him out of her mind and focuses on the glittering wedding ceremony.

At the end, a gorgeous-looking Beyonce gets on with her new life with a feeling of content visible on her face and that marks the end of the clip.
