After watching his younger sibling Nick’s underwhelming performance outside the successful Jonas Brothers group, Joe Jonas must have thought he can do better than that and therefore, he launched his own solo career and is scheduled to drop his first album ‘Fast Life’ later this year.

At first, Joe felt awkward with his brothers not by his side, but he soon drew inspiration from the love of his fans, who were eager to witness the middle Jonas’ new musical journey.

“It was scary in the beginning just because I knew this is my one opportunity to show people my journal: the good and bad of every relationship I’ve been in, you know, [and] what I look for [in relationships],” Joe said in a quick sit-down with MTV News at NYC’s Sounds Like Paper Concert, where he was performed some of his ‘Fast Life’ material in celebration of being featured on the latest cover of ‘Paper’ magazine.

Nick and Kevin Jonas may not be involved in this project but Joe said that his experiences with the brothers and being a part of a successful band are among few of the things that inspired him to do this project.

But Fast Life’s content will not sound similar to the typical Jonas Brother sound. Instead, Joe has gone for more house music and mainstream pop-theme that he has always preferred over JoBros’ pop/rock sound. He added, “It was almost an evolution process, because in the beginning it sounded nothing like it is now. It was totally different and very singer/songwriter, and I naturally love dance music and urban, hip-hop music, so I wanted to be able to make something new for them to hear.”
