Fox News forgets how to use Twitter

In a moment of technology fail, Fox News Twitter account this morning declared President Obama dead and wishing Vice President Joe Biden good luck.

Fox News confirmed the hack. ”Hackers sent out several malicious and false tweets claiming that President Obama had been assassinated,” it said. “Those reports are incorrect, of course, and the president is spending the July 4 holiday with his family.”

Fair enough but one small detail. After figuring it out and declaring it resolved, they sort of forgot to delete the fake tweets and in fact, the hackers posted even more tweets. The Obama assassination tweets were up for at least 9 hours before being finally taken down.
