Rihanna denies Chris Brown tweet, finds new love

Yesterday, several of the less fabulous blogs got rather excited over a story in which Rihanna seemed to confess to provoking Chris Brown into beating her up. Just one snag – it’s not true.

The tweet in question [seen here] recalls the infamous assault of March 2009 and reads “‘I admit, I provoked Chris to hit me. It not entirely his fault. #ImSORRY’”

The story blew up after a screen-cap – reputedly from Rihanna’s Twitter feed – was received by an MTV outlet in Canada. They promptly ran with the story without checking the facts or the source and Rihanna got rather upset;

“@MTVNewsCanada – Are u f*****g kiddin me???” she tweeted. “You’re supposed to be a RELIABLE source for news on music and this is the bull***t u post??”

MTV seemed stunned by the rather direct rebuke and tweeted a somewhat milder response:

“#Rihanna fans. We were reporting on a story that was posted on several sites today. We had no intention to be salacious.”

The feud seemed to fizzle at that point, but Rihanna has recovered quite well – Last night she was spied at a Montreal club with her latest companion, Drake, and sources say they are clearly in tune;

“They came in at about 1am. after her concert,” a source shares. “They were dancing and grinding on each other.”

And once the party broke up the pair adjourned to the Mondrian Hotel – still together.
