‘Cars 2′s Owen Wilson splits from son’s mom

Many women will tell you the big problem with guys is a fear of commitment, and ‘Cars 2’ star Owen Wilson is walking proof – He just split from his girlfriend because committing to life with the mother of his child seemed like too much;

The 42-year old actor met Jade Dell, a former Air Marshal, last year when they shared a flight, and their son, Robert, arrived on January 14th. But this idyllic family are now apparently done.

“Owen wanted the freedom to do what he wanted with his friends, both male and female, while remaining a family with Jade and the baby,” a close friend tells the Mail. “But Jade wasn’t willing to go along with that, so Owen decided to end things instead of cheating.’

Friends say Jade has moved to New York to be with her folks – and she took Robert with her. Owen, meanwhile, has gone to ground in his Santa Monica home and is not taking calls.

The last time Owen broke it off with a lover was August, 2007 when his affair with Kate Hudson went down in flames. He then stunned family and friends by overdosing on pills and slashing his wrists, but losing a baby could be a real wrench – he sounds smitten:

“I was never somebody who was, like, ‘Oh gosh, it’s a little baby! Let me hold it.” he told Access. “But when it’s your own you feel a lot more confident. It’s strange.”
