George Clooney, Elisabetta Canalis break off romance

After one of the most low-key and endearing romances in Hollywood it’s been confirmed that George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis have parted ways.

“We’re not together anymore. It’s very difficult and very personal, so we hope that our privacy is respected,” says the brief statement released in London by George, who’s there to film his new movie ‘Gravity’ with co-star Sandra Bullock.

George, 50, and his 32-year old former love had been together since 2009 and this is far from the first time there were reports of a split. But this one seems real.

Last week the pair were spied sharing a candlelit dinner near George’s home on Lake Como, Italy — just after the last ‘break-up’ rumors. Earlier this month, Elisabetta also denied them in the Italian press.

But she also gave clues to what may have finally broken them up:

“I could never be with someone who, every time he opens his mouth says he doesn’t want a child with me or to marry me,” she said.

And that would be George — In a CNN interview back in January the Oscar-winning actor – who was married to Talia Balsam for four years until 1993 – told Piers Morgan he would never marry again, saying ‘once was enough.’

So, George is now single and and so is Ms. Bullock. Is it me or do you see potential?…
