Jon Bon Jovi suffers knee injury at Finland gig
Most rock band’s lead singers have a reputation for toughness but Jon Bon Jovi is raising the bar. Jon suffered a serious strain at a concert in Finland last night and still finished a three-hour show.
Playing to a sold-out crowd at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki the 49-year old iconic rocker damaged what’s known as the ‘Medial Collateral Ligament’ at the core of the knee.
The injury apparently happened about an hour into their set, but despite what must have been serious pain and a torrential rainstorm Jon kept things rocking for another two hours before seeking help.
“Fans need not worry,” Matt Bongiovi, of the band’s fan club assured Us Magazine. “Jon is in good health and future shows will not be affected.”
Any injury to this particular ligament can be really painful and recovery can take over three months. Jon is now using crutches to help reduce the effects but the band already confirmed they’ll be headlining the ‘Hard Rock Calling’ event in London which starts in just five days.

I hope he’s really in good condition because it would be sad if he is not really well and still pushes himself to go on touring, his condition could only get worse. I’ve seen him before perform live years ago in Los Angeles. He’s really good and I admire his voice and he has great stage presence! I hope I could see him again. He should bring his tour here in my city!
Take it easy Jon. You’re not as flexible and young as you used to way back in the 80′s and 90′s when you were jumping and running on stage. Me and my friends grew up singing and dancing to your old songs, we praise you, man. Until today I still have a collection of your songs, especially those that I really love. Hope you’ll get well soon. You wouldn’t want to let your fans waiting for your next concert.
When I was in high school, me and my mom used to argue about almost everything. It seemed that all she can ever noticed was the wrong things I’ve done. It made me resort to write a very big “If-I-do- something-right, nobody-remembers-it-but-if-I-do-something-bad-or-wrong, nobody-forgets-it.” saying on my wall, in my room. This would be a good example of that.
Most rock artists say that Bon Jovi is a disgrace to the rock and roll world. I say they’re dead wrong. If they are such a disgrace, how come all tickets of their concerts are still sold out? Of course we still want to say ballads from these rock artists, we have to rest our ears also from all those screaming and loud instruments…Bon Jovi has both rock songs and ballads. More power to you and your bandmates, Jon!
The Bon Jovi song I like is “Thank you for Loving me”. I used to think it would be a good song to play at my funeral…sick, huh? Nah, I’m just being realistic. We’re all going there, so why not prepare for it. Get well soon, Jon. We’re always be here for you.
But, on stage, in Dublin, this evening … he said, “I don’t have to be in the hospital until 9:00 a.m. tomorrow!”
