‘Teen Mom’s Amber Portwood discharged after suicide bid
After a still unexplained suicide attempt early this week, ‘Teen Mom’ star Amber Portwood has just been discharged from an Indiana hospital with a clean bill of health.
The troubled 21-year old was admitted to St. John’s Hospital in Anderson, Indiana on Tuesday morning after a disputed attempt to take her own life using pills and a rope.
Sources tell Radar she was kept there until now under a ‘72-hour psychiatric hold,’ which is standard procedure in suicide cases.
Interest in Amber’s condition has since been so great, Gary Shirley, her current boyfriend and father of her two-year old daughter Leah has now set up an email account so fans can send notes of support.
“The amount of positive support and energy has been overwhelming,” Shirley posted on Twitter late Thursday. “Your support is too special to pass up. All emails will be screened and any positive message will be printed and given to Amber.”
This is the same caring, empathic soul who friends say was enjoying a barbecue at home Tuesday night while Amber lay in a hospital bed.

Nice to know that she’ doing fine now. Why in the world would you do that to yourself, Amber? If you ever feel down and depressed, look at your daughter, talk or play with her. You should be thankful that you have an adorable daughter, she’s the one who’ll be there for you when you get old, not your boyfriends and your fair weather friends. Raise her well, be there for her. That’s unconditional love already.
Some people are such opportunistic bastards that they will use another person’s pain and discomfort just to get noticed. I’m talking about Gary Shirley, what an ass****. If he really cared for Amber, shouldn’t he be in the hospital caring for her? What’s next after this Amber? Are you going to do a Lindsay Lohan act just to get our attention?
This girl have some attention-seeking issues, she’s been doing this crazy stuff ever since before, I don’t know if she’s only doing this for people’s attention or attention from her family and boyfriend. If she’s really crazy and trying to kill herself then she should be in a mental institution or rehab now, but they discharged her too early. I think she’s only pretending to do all this issues for publicity. Girl please, you will never be famous… Just take good care of your poor baby.
