After one of the most disturbing stories we’ve carried in months it’s a relief to report the two men accused of a bizarre murder plot against British singer Joss Stone have now faced a Judge.

Junior Bradshaw, 30, and his alleged accomplice, Kevin Liverpool, 33, – both from the Manchester region in the northern part of the country – appeared in a court in Exeter near Joss’s home this morning to face charges of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm and conspiracy to commit robbery.

The pair were handcuffed to police officers during the short hearing and spoke only to confirm their names, addresses and dates of birth. They did not enter a plea but were remanded in custody until their next scheduled court appearance on July 1st.

The two men’s lawyers requested their clients be granted bail but this was denied.

While UK law forbids the release of most details of a case until the trial is completed the court was told the two accused were dressed all in black when police found them and their car contained balaclavas, several knives, a hammer, surgical gloves and a samurai sword, plus a large stash of papers and photographs relating to the exact area in which Joss lived.

In one bright piece of news the 24-year old singer did not appear to be home at the time the men arrived to conduct their repugnant plan, but she has released a statement assuring fans she is now “absolutely fine and getting on with life as normal while the police continue their inquiries.”

This must rank as one of the most bizarre celebrity cases in years. What’s your view? Should the pair go to prison, or would a secure hospital perhaps be more fitting confinement?
