FBI Probes Hamilton-Armstrong “awkward” Restaurant Meeting

The Federal Bureau of Investigation will investigate the recent awkward encounter between American cycling superstar Lance Armstrong and a former teammate and now top critic Tyler Hamilton inside a restaurant in Aspen, Colorado.
Jodi Larner, the owner of Cache Cache where the alleged, heated meeting between two former buddies-turned-enemies happened, revealed the FBI had asked for the surveillance tapes of his restaurant. Larner said he had in his possession some surveillance tapes but it only captured the kitchen area and not the front of the French restaurant where the heated exchange of words reportedly happened.
According to reports, the FBI is very serious in investigating the incident. They want to determine if there’s enough evidence to file charges of witness tampering. Armstrong is currently already under investigation for fraud, conspiracy and drug trafficking, along with others on his Tour-winning teams. Federal officials have been investigating the doping charges against Armstrong for the past two years.
It was earlier reported that Armstrong got the chance to have a talk with Hamilton inside the restaurant Saturday evening. The two had not seen each other face to face after Hamilton accused Armstrong of doping during his celebrated cycling career in the popular television program “60 Minutes”.
Based on the account of some witnesses, Hamilton had a dinner with some friends inside the popular restaurant who also happens to be Armstrong’s favorite hang-out. Apparently, Hamilton was aware the restaurant is a favorite hang-out of the seven-time Tour de France champion but he did not think they’d run into each other.
In their alleged meeting, Armstrong reportedly berated Hamilton for his accusations. To diffuse the conflict of the two former pals, Larner, who happens to be a good friend of Armstrong, told Hamilton that he can finish his dinner but was not welcomed to his restaurant again.
