Jessica Simpson lands key role on NBC’s ‘Fashion Star’

You and I might not think of Jessica Simpson as a leader of fashion but apparently NBC do – It’s just been announced she will be joining the peacock’s new reality show ‘Fashion Star.’

In a press release just issued by the network they tell us Jessica will be a mentor, guiding aspiring designers in their quest to win a multi-million dollar contract and launch their own line.

Taped in front of a studio audience and fronted by former supermodel, Elle McPherson, NBC promises the new showcase will be ‘a true spectacle’ and include musical interludes with dancers alongside weekly tests of the competitors skills as you might see on ‘Project Runway.’

And Jessica seems well placed for her role – Still just 30 she has already founded a successful fashion line, plus a range of cosmetics and hair care that includes over two dozen items and growing.

There’s no debut date for the show yet but as NBC own Bravo who created ‘Runway’ you can bet they’ll be eager to get the new show on air. The big question is – will you watch?…
