Kate Middleton spied shopping solo in London

Just weeks after what must rank as one of the most anticipated [and over-hyped] events in the history of our particular species Prince William’s new bride, Kate Middleton is bravely trying to resume normal life. She was spied shopping in London this morning and even hauled her own bags.

The 29-year old newlywed has already survived formal events with President Obama and the First Lady, plus a visit to Epsom to share the uniquely British equestrian spectacle that is the Derby. But today’s appointment was far more low-key.

Draped in a bright fuchsia dress, black cardigan and stylish wedge shoes Kate was spied at the highly reputed hat-makers, ‘Lock & Co.’ She bought a few items then returned to a waiting car, flanked by a somewhat unnerving selection of Royal bodyguards.

And with true royal panache she insisted on carrying all the bags by herself.

Sadly this no-doubt welcome break from her new formal duties will be short-lived; Tonight, Kate and her 28-year old Royal hubby are booked to attend the 10th annual ‘Absolute Return for Kids’ dinner near their new home at Kensington Palace.

Tickets cost $15,000 – each, and the 900 guests fill the room with fur coats and diamonds. According to Us this exclusive soirée will raise funds for a foundation run by Prince William and his younger brother, Prince Harry.
