Twilight star Nikki Reed, American Idol star Paul McDonald engaged!

It wouldn’t be an MTV Movie Awards without any surprises. Twilight star Nikki Reed and American Idol contestant Paul McDonald announced their engagement Sunday at the award show.

When reporters started noticing the ring on her finger, Reed told E! of their happy news.  ”He’s the one. He’s the one.” Reed also said that McDonald will be releasing an album about her, probably entitled “Nikki Reed EP.”

The two met at the Red Riding Hood premiere and have been dating for less than six months.
