Where Was Couples Retreat Filmed?

It’s summer time, and you know what that means. VACATION!!

Here at HMG, we’ve been pondering, what’s the ideal vacation spot? So long it’s pretty, somewhere tropical and a bar with free-flowing vodka, I think our mother hen Hot Momma will be just fine.

After much debate, we’re determined to pack our bags and head to wherever Vince Vaughn was dipping his toes in his hit movie Couples Retreat. Eden East and Eden West as they call it. Problem is, there’s no real Eden Resort on this side of the globe so the question of the day is: Where was Couples Retreat filmed?

After some sleuthing (okay, some intense googling), we found Couples Retreat was filmed at Bora Bora in French Polynesia. In particular, the main set was located at the St. Regis Bora Bora Resort. A jaw-dropping gorgeous location to die for, but it ain’t cheap.

Low-season prices (Nov-Dec 21 and Jan-May) start $1,300 per night for a standard one-bedroom over-water bungalow. And Vince Vaughn’s 2-bedroom over-water pool villa runs about $5,500 per night. OR, if you’re feeling really magical and want to stay where Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban honeymooned, there’s the overindulgent “Royal Estate” mansion that measures at a whopping 13,000-square-foot with 3 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, private pool, sauna, full kitchen and steam room. All for a low price of $18,375 per night.

Ah, all this talk has got me dreaming of the day I’ll be sipping margaritas from a deck chair on my overwater bungalow. And playfully fishing in the fish-filled, blue water lagoons. Excuse me as I go hint to Hot Momma it’s my birthday next week…
