Bruce Willis, Bill Murray join new Wes Anderson film
[HMG Celebrity News] – Some directors in Hollywood only create a few films in a decade but they’re each worth the wait. Wes Anderson is firmly among them. And the fact his latest work. ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ will star Bruce Willis, Edward Norton and Bill Murray is clear proof of his claim to that place.
The 42-year old Texan has not made a film since 2009′s ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’ – and that was animation. But his next big-screen outing collects his favorite ensemble cast in Wes’ first attempt at a period piece.
Set on a island close to New England at some time in the ’60′s, ‘Moonrise’ is the tale of two very young lovers who feel so oppressed by their parents they decide to elope. And when news breaks of their disappearance the whole town comes together to find them.
Bruce Willis is the town sheriff; Edward Norton plays the pair’s camp leader and Bill Murray and Frances McDormand are the girl’s parents. Jason Schwartzman, Owen Wilson and Tilda Swinton also make up the cast.
So in that list you’ve got one Oscar nominee [Bill] a double-Oscar nominee [Edward] and two people who actually got the little gold man – Tilda and Frances. Proof of the man’s talent is clear from the people around him.
The script was co-written by Wes and Roman Coppola, who helped write 2007′s ‘Darjeeling Limited’ which won top prize at the Venice Film Festival. So the pedigree on this film is superb.
The film is due out next year but if you’re a fan of his work this simple outline should be enough to make you book tickets, so let’s hear what you think of Wes’s latest idea…
